1. Job Purpose

To plan, organize, and supervise all production activities in the wood factory, ensuring that products are manufactured according to approved drawings, quality standards, project specifications, delivery schedules, and company requirements while controlling labour, material, and production costs.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Production Planning and Management

• Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly production activities.
• Supervise the manufacturing of wooden furniture, cabinets, wardrobes, doors, joinery, and other woodwork products.
• Coordinate production activities according to project drawings, specifications, and delivery deadlines.
• Monitor production progress and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Allocate manpower, machinery, and materials according to production requirements.

B. Staff and Labour Management

• Supervise carpenters, machine operators, joinery workers, polishers, painters, and other production staff.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor employee productivity.
• Maintain staff discipline, attendance, and workplace safety.
• Coordinate with HR and administration regarding manpower requirements and staff performance.
• Provide training and guidance to improve productivity and workmanship.

C. Material and Inventory Control

• Coordinate with the purchase and store departments for timely availability of wood, plywood, MDF, veneer, laminates, hardware, adhesives, and other materials.
• Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and finished products.
• Report shortages, damaged materials, and excess consumption to management.
• Control material usage according to approved project requirements.

D. Quality Control

• Ensure all products meet approved drawings, measurements, designs, and finishing standards.
• Inspect work at different production stages.
• Identify defects and arrange corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the quality control and installation teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure finished products are checked before packing and dispatch.

E. Machinery and Maintenance

• Ensure production machinery, cutting machines, CNC machines, edge banding machines, and other equipment are operated correctly.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure proper use of tools and machinery.
• Report equipment breakdowns and arrange timely maintenance.
• Maintain a safe and organized production floor.

F. Cost Control and Productivity

• Monitor labour costs, material consumption, production expenses, and wastage.
• Improve production methods to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
• Monitor output against production targets.
• Prepare production cost estimates and reports when required.
• Recommend improvements in workflow, machinery utilization, and manpower allocation.

G. Coordination and Reporting

• Coordinate with design, estimation, purchase, store, project, installation, and accounts departments.
• Review shop drawings and material requirements before production starts.
• Report daily production progress, pending work, delays, and material requirements to management.
• Maintain production records, job cards, material usage reports, and completion records.
• Ensure finished products are packed, labelled, and ready for delivery according to the project schedule.

H. Health, Safety, and Housekeeping

• Ensure compliance with factory safety procedures and company policies.
• Enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the production area.
• Ensure safe handling of wood dust, chemicals, paints, adhesives, and machinery.
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and equipment-related risks immediately.

1. Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Wood Technology, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in wood manufacturing, furniture production, or joinery operations; supervisory experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, materials, production processes, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and shop drawings.
• Experience in production planning, labour supervision, inventory control, and cost management.
• Good communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and production reporting systems.

1. General Responsibilities

The Production Manager shall perform other reasonable duties assigned by management that are related to factory operations, production efficiency, quality, safety, and business requirements.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
