In this role, you will lead a team of WIM Investigators responsible for conducting investigations and threat assessments involving acts of violence, threats of violence, and the potential for violence or concerning behaviors. This is a people-management position reporting to the Regional WIM Manager, AMER Region. As Manager, you will own the day-to-day operations of your assigned area within the AMER region, setting direction and standards while ensuring investigations are thorough, timely, and consistent. You will guide your team's decision-making, own the quality of outcomes, and build the cross-functional and law enforcement partnerships essential to keeping Amazon's workforce safe. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams comprised of cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Human Resources, Employee Relations, Legal) and security partners (e.g., site security, intelligence analysts) to assess behavior, investigate actions, and implement appropriate resolutions. This position will require occasional travel and on-call availability for critical security incidents. Key job responsibilities • Lead and develop a team of AMER-based WIM Investigators, overseeing complex, highly confidential investigations and owning the quality, consistency, and timely resolution of outcomes across the region. • Manage caseload allocation across the team, balancing workload, priorities, and resourcing across AMER. • Personally manage a caseload of the most complex, sensitive, and high-stakes investigations, conducting threat assessments and interviews directly for these matters. • Build and own cross-functional partnerships with Amazon Corporate Security (ACS), Data Center (DC) Security, HR, Employee Relations (ER), Legal, and security partners across AMER. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, and appropriately escalate risks, threats, and issues as required by applicable laws. • Own data integrity and reporting in the case management system, using a structured workflow to track cases, analyze trends, identify causation, and prevent future incidents. • Deliver and elevate the team's fact-based reports, assessments, and presentations to executive-level leadership. • Set and drive operational excellence standards and continuous-improvement initiatives, including innovation through AI and emerging technologies. • Own the regional approach to workplace violence prevention training, mitigation planning, and post-incident after-action reviews. • Coach, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, managing day-to-day operations while fostering continuous talent and career development. • Maintain after-hours availability and lead the team's emergency on-call rotation and incident-response readiness. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. - 7+ years of security-related professional, or 7+ years of law enforcement experience - Experience leading cross-functional teams to establish strong partnerships with demonstrable results - Recent experience (last 3 years) in Incident Management, Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Crisis Management, or a related field involving threat assessments, workplace investigations, and/or incident response - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Business, Criminology, Social Work, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university - Understanding of insider threat programs
