Reports To Supply Chain Manager Purpose of the Role The Stores Supervisor is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the warehouse and store’s function, ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient material flow, and timely support of manufacturing operations. The role requires a strong focus on ERP-driven stock management, inventory accuracy, process compliance, and team leadership. The successful candidate will oversee warehouse personnel, drive best practice stock control processes, maintain high standards of housekeeping and security, and ensure materials are available to support production schedules while leveraging ERP systems to optimise inventory management and reporting. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management & Systems Control - Manage all inventory transactions within the ERP system ensuring stock accuracy and traceability. - Monitor inventory levels and investigate stock discrepancies, implementing corrective actions where necessary. - Conduct daily cycle counts with a target of 90 SKUs per week and ensure inventory accuracy targets are achieved. Production Support & Material Availability - Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) are picked, verified, and staged a minimum of two weeks prior to scheduled production dates. - Support production planning by ensuring timely availability of materials and components. - Coordinate and manage stock transfers to the company's production facility in China, ensuring accurate documentation and system transactions. Goods Inwards & Warehouse Operations - Oversee the receipt, inspection, receipting, and put-away of incoming materials. - Ensure all goods are stored correctly, and inventory locations are maintained accurately within the ERP system. Team Leadership & Development - Supervise warehouse and stores personnel, allocating work and directing daily activities. Warehouse Security, Safety & Compliance - Maintain warehouse security and ensure authorised access controls are followed. - Ensure aisles, walkways, and fire exits remain clear and compliant with safety regulations. Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and material flow. - Support implementation of new systems, processes, and automation initiatives. - Champion best practices in warehouse management and ERP utilisation. Additional Duties - Undertake other ad-hoc duties and projects as requested by management. Person Specification Qualifications & Experience - Experience in a warehouse, stores, or inventory control environment within manufacturing. - Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. - Strong ERP/MRP system experience. - Proven experience managing inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and stock control processes. - Good understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory management principles. Essential Skills - Strong IT and systems capability with excellent ERP proficiency. - High attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy. - Strong organisational and planning skills. Desirable - Forklift licence/certification. - Experience within electronics, engineering, or high-mix manufacturing environments.
