# Warehouse Supervisor / Manager (IT Refurbishment: PC's, Laptops) **1st Technologies Ltd** · Preston PR3 3XL · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 25 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### Top Skills & Match 🎯 **Ключевой стек роли:** `[Управление командой]` `[Управление рисками]` --- ### About the Role About 1st Technologies Founded in 1997, 1st Technologies is a global leader in supplying high-end refurbished IT equipment. As champions of the circular economy, we take pride in delivering top-quality IT hardware with outstanding customer service. With a team of around 95 people and continued growth, we’re looking for someone who shares our strong work ethic and commitment to high standards. About the role Every laptop, PC and monitor we sell passes through Inbound. As Inbound Consumer Manager, you own the department. You're responsible for a team of 13, the safety of the floor, and the processes that turn incoming stock into saleable product. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job. You'll work alongside refurbishment technicians, hardware technicians and warehouse operatives, and you'll be measured on three things: how well your team performs, how safely they work, and how much better the department performs six months from now than it does today. Key Responsibilities Own the inbound process end to end; goods-in, cosmetic refurbishment, consumer processing (PCs, laptops, monitors), testing, repair and engineering support. Ensuring goods are checked, labelled and stored correctly, and every unit is refurbished, tested and quality-checked before resale. Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of refurbishment technicians, hardware technicians and warehouse operatives — setting clear expectations, coaching for progression, and handling workload planning, training records and day-to-day admin. Deal with conflict when it arises early and fairly; run informal and formal meetings, including grievances and disciplinaries, with HR support. Manage the repair process and component-level testing (CPUs, memory, storage), coordinating with technicians and escalating to 3rd-line support for complex issues. Continuously review and improve processes: identify bottlenecks and unnecessary steps, redesign workflows to lift throughput and quality, and use data: output, error rates, grading accuracy, to decide where improvement work has the biggest impact. Write clear guidance, checklists and standard processes so improvements stick after you move on to the next priority, and work closely with Outbound so upstream changes don't create downstream problems. Take responsibility for health and safety within Consumer, risk assessments, safe systems of work, racking inspections and checklists, toolbox talks and manual handling refreshers, and ensure compliance with legislation, company policy and ISO standards. Manage waste and hazardous materials correctly and promote sustainable practice, in line with environmental regulations. Build a department people want to work in: good communication, visible standards, a no-blame culture. Set the standard for performance, behaviour and accountability. Undertake other duties as reasonably required. What we're looking for Essential Proven management experience in warehouse, distribution, refurbishment or a similar operational environment, with a track record of leading teams and driving performance improvements. Sound knowledge of IT hardware / consumer electronics and refurbishment or quality-control processes. Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management system principles, with an understanding of process control, continuous improvement and maintaining quality standards. Working knowledge of health and safety in a warehouse or production setting. A people-first leadership style, you engage teams, build a positive culture, and handle scheduling, logistics and admin with confidence. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a practical, data-driven approach to operational challenges. Analytical and organised: comfortable with data, confident juggling priorities and meeting deadlines under pressure. Clear written communicator with strong Microsoft Office skills; able to produce simple guidance, checklists and process documentation. Good judgement on what to handle yourself and what to escalate; experienced in conflict management. Effective communicator across all levels of the organisation, with a strong customer-service orientation. Desirable IOSH or NEBOSH certification, or another health & safety qualification. A management or leadership qualification. Environmental management experience or qualification. Experience with inventory management systems. Probation The role is subject to a three-month probationary period. During this time, we'll be looking for: Delivers departmental targets efficiently, maintaining the required standards for performance, quality and error rates. Demonstrates reliable attendance, punctuality and consistently professional conduct, setting a positive example for the team. Provides clear leadership and direction, promoting a collaborative, productive and respectful working environment. Responds positively to feedback and demonstrates the ability to implement improvements effectively. Communicates clearly and professionally with team members, colleagues and other departments across the business. Ensures company policies, compliance requirements and health & safety procedures are consistently followed, including manual handling, toolbox talks and good housekeeping standards. Takes accountability for maintaining standards within the department and addressing performance, conduct or operational issues appropriately. Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to develop knowledge of other roles, departments and business processes. Makes consistent progress through the relevant training matrix and supports the training and development of team members where required. Demonstrates sound judgement, a positive attitude and the ability to build effective working relationships while supporting the company’s values and culture.
