Warehouse Operations Manager
For more than 45 years, Rauhorn Electric has helped build and power critical infrastructure across Michigan. We are Powered by People, and our work is grounded in safety, integrity, teamwork, discipline, innovation, and gratitude for the opportunities entrusted to us. About the Role: Rauhorn Electric is seeking a hands-on, systems-minded Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our warehouse, yard, inventory, shipping, receiving, and material logistics operations. This leader will build a disciplined, service-focused operation that keeps materials, tools, and equipment accurately controlled and ready when field teams need them. This is an opportunity to shape the future of our warehouse network, including the planning and long-term operation of a centralized warehouse. You will lead the warehouse operations team, standardize processes across locations, strengthen inventory visibility, and partner across the business to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. What You Will Do: Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, yard, and shipping and receiving employees; establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability. Oversee daily operations across warehouse and yard locations, including organization, staffing, capacity, equipment readiness, and workflow execution. Help plan, implement, and operate Rauhorn's centralized warehouse strategy, including layout, storage systems, inventory migration, and material flow. Own inventory accuracy and system integrity through disciplined receiving, transfers, cycle counts, audits, reconciliation, labeling, and material tracking. Ensure inbound and outbound materials are inspected, verified, documented, stored, staged, transferred, and delivered accurately and on time. Coordinate with Purchasing, Project Management, Field Operations, Fleet, Facilities, Finance, Safety, and Technology teams to align material availability with project schedules. Proactively resolve shortages, damages, freight claims, shipping discrepancies, and other issues that could disrupt field execution. Develop and improve warehouse procedures, workflows, reporting, and performance measures that strengthen safety, productivity, service, and scalability. Drive consistent use of inventory and ERP systems, including Kojo and Foundation, and recommend technology, equipment, or layout improvements. Maintain safe, secure, organized, and compliant warehouse and yard environments while protecting employees and company assets. What Success Looks Like: Accurate, reliable inventory records across warehouse and yard locations. Materials, tools, and equipment are complete, job-ready, and available with minimal field disruption. Shipping, receiving, staging, and transfers are completed accurately and on schedule. Warehouse space, workflows, equipment, and labor are organized for safe and efficient operations. The warehouse team demonstrates strong ownership, teamwork, cross-training, and consistent performance. Operational data and KPIs are used to identify trends, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement. What We Are Looking For: Five or more years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations. Three or more years of experience leading warehouse, logistics, inventory, or material-handling teams. Strong knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving, cycle counting, physical inventories, material handling, and warehouse optimization. Experience implementing standardized processes, inventory controls, operating procedures, or continuous improvement initiatives. Experience using ERP, warehouse management, barcode, inventory, or material-tracking systems. Strong leadership, planning, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced operational environment. Ability to balance internal customer needs with safety, accuracy, cost control, and operational priorities. Experience in construction, electrical distribution, industrial operations, or manufacturing is preferred. Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience will be considered. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain and maintain it, is required. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR, APICS or ASCM, Lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement certifications are preferred. Work Setting and Schedule: This on-site position is based within Rauhorn's warehouse and yard operations and requires regular local travel among company warehouses, yards, project sites, and supplier locations. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support inventory activities, deliveries, project schedules, and occasional early morning, evening, or weekend needs. The role requires frequent movement through warehouse and outdoor yard environments, including walking, climbing, bending, lifting, and working safely around material-handling equipment. Occasional operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles may be required in accordance with company policies and applicable certifications. Our Values: We expect every team member to put people first, win together, remain innovative and disciplined, act with integrity, and stay humbled by opportunity. These values guide how we lead, make decisions, serve our customers, and support one another. Rauhorn Electric is an equal opportunity employer.
