As Warehouse & Operations Manager , you will play a key role in the successful day-to-day running of our operations, taking ownership of our Warehouse, Logistics and Event Team functions and ensuring everything is in place to deliver the 5* Event Experience our customers expect. At the head of the wider logistics team, you will inherit a strong dedicated team with years of experience and knowledge, well equipped to deliver in their own day to day; this role primarily to support and lead them, along with the Events team, offers a varied, hands-on management role that sits at the heart of our event delivery operation. From ensuring equipment is maintained, tested and event-ready, to overseeing logistical planning that includes vehicles, staffing and client / venue / supplier relations, you will be responsible for making sure the operational side of our business runs efficiently, safely and effectively. You will find yourself collaborating with Sales, HR and the wider management team, while taking day-to-day ownership of your areas of responsibility. Our business is heavily reliant on our people, equipment and ability to deliver. We are therefore looking for someone who is organised, proactive and naturally meticulous, but equally someone who is approachable, supportive and able to motivate a team. This is a role for someone who enjoys being busy, solving problems and making things happen. No two days will be the same. Key Responsibilities Warehouse & Equipment Management Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation, organisation and efficiency of the Warehouse. Lead and support the team responsible for Warehouse and Equipment Operations. Ensure processes are followed that result in equipment being prepared, maintained and ready for every event. Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs, with maintenance activity tracked through Trello. Ensure all required equipment testing and safety checks are completed and appropriately recorded. Maintain oversight of Health & Safety within the Warehouse and equipment operation. Ensure the Warehouse, property and associated working areas are clean, safe, organised and fit for purpose. Oversee the implementation of equipment training and ensure relevant team members are appropriately trained. Work with the wider management team on the introduction of new equipment and the appropriate processes for bringing equipment into and out of the business. Logistics & Operational Management Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the Logistics function. Lead and support the team responsible for logistical planning of events, ensuring workloads are appropriately planned and managed. Ensure processes are followed in scheduling, vehicle requirements, bookings and general logistics planning. Identify potential clashes, capacity issues or operational challenges well in advance. Maintain oversight of operational Health & Safety requirements. Provide operational cover during periods of absence, annual leave and peak seasonal periods. Deal with supplier forms and other operational administration. Respond to and resolve day-to-day operational enquiries. Monitor departmental costs and work proactively to ensure operations remain commercially efficient. Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, systems, workflows and efficiency. Event Delivery Maintain overall operational oversight of the successful delivery of events across the UK. Ensure events are appropriately planned and prepared from an operational perspective. Ensure Event Teams have the correct information, equipment and resources required to deliver each event successfully. Provide support to Event Teams before, during and after events where required. Monitor event performance and identify areas for improvement. Maintain an overview of NPS, customer feedback and event performance. Support with event site audits and live event checks at locations across the UK. Ensure lessons, feedback and operational issues from events are appropriately communicated and acted upon. Event Team Management & People Take overall day-to-day responsibility for the Event Team operation. Support Event Team members and act as a key point of contact for operational queries and requests. Monitor Event Team performance and standards. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing support and feedback. Work alongside the HR function on people-related matters affecting the Event Team. Support the recruitment process for the Event Team, including interviews and candidate selection, as and when required during peak seasons. Oversee Event Team onboarding, induction and the implementation of relevant training. Monitor training requirements and ensure Event Team members have the knowledge and skills required for their roles. Support the development and maintenance of a positive, motivated and accountable Event Team culture. Maintain clear and effective communication with Event Teams across varying shift patterns and working requirements. Provide appropriate accessibility and support to match the operational demands of our events. Team Leadership Provide effective leadership to the Warehouse, Logistics and Event Teams within your areas of responsibility. Set clear priorities, standards and expectations. Ensure teams are working efficiently, effectively and in line with company processes. Lead by example and promote a positive, proactive and supportive working culture. Monitor individual and team performance and address issues appropriately. Conduct or contribute to performance reviews. Identify training and development requirements. Support team members to reach their potential while maintaining the standards expected by The Fun Experts. Ensure effective communication between Warehouse, Logistics Planning, Sales, HR and other departments. Systems, Reporting & Performance Maintain an overview of operational KPIs and performance indicators. Monitor NPS and customer feedback and identify trends or areas requiring attention. Produce and maintain relevant operational reports. Provide management with clear updates on operational performance, issues and opportunities. Ensure operational systems and records are accurate and kept up to date. Use systems such as Trello and other company platforms effectively to maintain visibility across equipment, maintenance and operational activity. Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency. Take ownership of agreed operational projects and improvements. Health & Safety & Compliance Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety across Warehouse, Logistics and Event Team activities. Ensure company procedures and safety processes are followed. Maintain oversight of equipment testing, maintenance and safety requirements. Ensure any identified issues are acted upon promptly. Support the management team in maintaining a safe working environment for employees, Event Teams, customers and the public. On-Call & Out-of-Hours Support Due to the nature of our events business, this role will support the out-of-hours On-Call Support rota for Event Teams. This is currently worked by the Logistics Team, one week in four; you will be the support for On Call whereby any issues they are faced with, they may require contact with you to support. This will involve providing operational support and decision-making outside standard office hours when required, subject to business requirements. The role requires an understanding that event delivery can involve evenings, weekends and varying shift patterns, and that appropriate support must be available to our Event Teams when they are delivering events. Previous experience in operations, logistics, warehouse management, events or people management would be highly beneficial. Experience within the event industry would be advantageous, but the right attitude, organisational ability and management skills are equally important. The Person We're not looking for someone who simply wants to manage from behind a desk. We need someone who is prepared to get stuck in . Our events can involve hundreds or even thousands of guests, multiple teams, significant amounts of equipment and venues across the UK. The ability to remain calm and level headed, to think practically and find a solution is essential. You'll need to be someone who can move between different parts of the business - from checking equipment in the Warehouse and having an awareness of all Event planning, to speaking with the Sales Team, supporting an Event Team, reviewing performance or dealing with an operational problem. Most importantly, you'll need to be a people person . The people are the most important part of our business, our most powerful asset.
