VP, Logistics Operations

Job Summary:

The Vice President of Logistics Operations is the senior leader responsible for driving the strategic and operational performance of our commodities hauling division. This role owns the full lifecycle of the business unit — from identifying and onboarding high-value clients, to ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and sustainable profitability. The VP will serve as the bridge between corporate strategy and day-to-day execution, working closely with the COO to shape the future of our logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:

· Identify, target, and develop relationships with ideal clients in the commodities sector.

· Negotiate and structure long-term contracts that balance competitiveness with profitability.

· Lead client onboarding to ensure seamless operational integration and long-term satisfaction.

· Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and company profitability goals.

· Forecast equipment, staffing, and skill set needs to meet current and future demand.

· Collaborate with leadership to align business unit goals with corporate objectives.

· Oversee the daily operations of the business unit, ensuring efficiency, safety, and service quality.

· Lead and mentor the Operations Manager and Staff Accountant, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

· Establish and track performance metrics for service delivery, cost control, and client satisfaction.

· Ensure strict adherence to all DOT, OSHA, and industry regulations.

· Implement compliance programs and maintain readiness for audits and inspections.

· Stay ahead of changing regulations to proactively adapt policies and processes.

· Monitor and manage the business unit’s P&L, ensuring revenue growth and margin improvement.

· Approve major capital expenditures, including fleet acquisition and technology investments.

· Work closely with accounting to produce accurate forecasts, budgets, and financial reports.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in logistics, transportation, or commodities hauling, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven success in building and maintaining high-value client relationships.
• Strong background in operations management, P&L responsibility, and compliance oversight.
• Deep understanding of DOT and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
