# VP of Financial Operations **TransCargo Solutions** · Miami, FL 33131 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Vice President of Financial Operations Company: TransCargo Solutions Employment Type: Full-Time | Remote Industry: Transportation, Logistics & Supply Chain Services Level: Executive Leadership Position Overview TransCargo Solutions is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Financial Operations to lead financial management, strengthen operational profitability, and provide financial oversight across the company's transportation and logistics activities. In the logistics industry, financial performance depends on far more than revenue growth. Transportation costs, customer payment terms, carrier expenses, contract pricing, and working capital requirements all influence the financial health of the business. This position requires an executive who understands those relationships and knows how to translate financial information into practical operating decisions. The Vice President of Financial Operations will work closely with executive leadership and operational management to improve financial visibility, establish stronger performance controls, and ensure that business decisions are supported by reliable financial analysis. We are looking for someone who has managed complex financial operations, understands the economics of transportation and supply chain services, and can bring greater consistency to financial planning, cash flow management, and operating performance. This is a senior leadership position with meaningful responsibility for financial discipline, organizational accountability, and the company's long-term financial stability. Key Responsibilities Lead financial operations across the business, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and operational financial analysis. Work directly with executive leadership to establish financial priorities, evaluate business performance, and develop financial plans that support sustainable growth. Oversee transportation and logistics cost analysis, including freight expenses, carrier payments, operating overhead, vendor costs, and customer profitability. Partner with operations leadership to evaluate route economics, service delivery costs, contract margins, and opportunities to improve operating efficiency. Manage working capital strategies, with particular attention to accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer payment cycles, and carrier settlement obligations. Review customer contracts, pricing arrangements, and service agreements to ensure commercial decisions reflect appropriate margins, cost exposure, and financial risk. Develop financial reporting practices that provide leadership with a clear understanding of revenue performance, operating expenses, cash requirements, and business profitability. Establish financial controls and approval processes that strengthen expense management, reduce unnecessary financial exposure, and support accurate financial records. Oversee financial planning activities related to business expansion, technology investments, operational improvements, and additional transportation capacity. Work with accounting and finance personnel to improve month-end reporting, financial reconciliations, expense allocation, and management reporting. Evaluate financial risks associated with customer concentration, fuel price fluctuations, transportation market conditions, credit exposure, and changing operating costs. Maintain relationships with banking institutions, financial service providers, external accountants, and other financial partners when required. Lead financial process improvements, including the effective use of financial systems, reporting technology, and data analysis to improve accuracy and decision-making. Provide financial guidance to department leaders and ensure that operating decisions are evaluated against the company's financial objectives. Qualifications 15+ years of progressive experience in financial operations, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, accounting leadership, or related financial management positions. At least 8 years of senior management experience, preferably within transportation, logistics, freight services, supply chain management, or another operationally intensive industry. Demonstrated experience overseeing company-wide financial operations, managing significant operating budgets, and improving financial performance. Strong understanding of transportation economics, freight cost structures, carrier expenses, contract profitability, and working capital requirements. Extensive experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow planning, cost management, and financial performance reporting. Ability to analyze customer profitability, operating margins, financial risk, and the financial implications of business expansion. Experience managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit policies, vendor payment processes, and cash conversion cycles. Working knowledge of U.S. accounting standards, financial controls, internal reporting requirements, and financial compliance practices. Experience working with enterprise financial systems, ERP platforms, financial reporting applications, and advanced spreadsheet-based financial models. Proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership and operational management while maintaining independent financial judgment. Strong communication, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters in practical business terms. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. An MBA, CPA, or CMA designation is preferred. Ideal Candidate The strongest candidate for this position will have spent a significant portion of their career working at the intersection of finance and operations. They understand financial statements, but they also understand the operating decisions behind the numbers. They know how quickly profitability can change when transportation costs increase, customer payments slow, or service contracts are priced without a complete understanding of expenses. This executive should be comfortable questioning assumptions, working through difficult financial decisions, and partnering with operational leaders who need practical answers rather than lengthy financial presentations. Experience in transportation or logistics is particularly valuable because the role requires an understanding of how freight activity, customer relationships, carrier networks, and working capital affect financial performance. The successful candidate will bring the discipline of an experienced financial executive, the commercial awareness of a business operator, and the ability to develop financial practices that support the organization as it grows. At TransCargo Solutions, this proposed leadership role is intended for someone who can take ownership of financial operations, improve the quality of financial decision-making, and help establish a stronger foundation for long-term business performance.
