Our technology environment is central to how we serve customers, operate efficiently, protect sensitive information, and scale the business. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Vice President of Corporate IT to lead the systems, infrastructure, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), security operations, and internal technology capabilities that support PracticeTek’s employees and business. This leader will establish the operating model, standards, and decision rights for Corporate IT while maintaining clear boundaries with Product and Engineering. The Opportunity The VP of Corporate IT will build a secure, scalable, and increasingly automated corporate technology environment spanning employee technology, enterprise applications, infrastructure, identity and access, IT operations, GRC, vendors, and corporate security. The role will partner with executive leadership and business functions to ensure internal technology supports growth without unnecessary complexity. This is a leadership role for someone who can set strategy, build a strong team, establish operating discipline, and stay close enough to the work to make sound decisions. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership - Develop and execute the Corporate IT strategy, roadmap, operating model, and investment priorities. - Establish standards, governance, decision rights, and operating metrics. - Build and lead a high-performing Corporate IT organization. - Advise executive leadership on technology, security, resilience, and operational risk, including Board-level reporting. Enterprise Applications & Employee Technology - Own the strategy, lifecycle, integration, and administration of corporate applications and business systems. - Partner with business leaders to improve workflows, data quality, reporting, and technology adoption. - Own the employee technology experience from onboarding through offboarding, including devices, collaboration tools, productivity applications, and support. - Establish service levels and automate routine IT workflows. Infrastructure, Identity & Resilience - Own corporate infrastructure, networks, endpoints, collaboration platforms, and core internal technology services. - Establish modern identity and access management based on least privilege and strong authentication. - Improve resilience, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response. - Ensure internal environments are secure, reliable, observable, and documented. Security, Risk & Compliance - Lead corporate security operations in partnership with the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO), Security, Legal, and Compliance, with clear interfaces to product and engineering security. - Own technology-related GRC controls, operational risk practices, and Corporate IT audit readiness. - Establish effective controls for endpoint security, vulnerability management, access, monitoring, incident response, and third-party risk. - Coordinate significant technology and security incidents and drive post-incident improvement. Vendors, Investment & Internal Tooling - Manage strategic vendors, contracts, renewals, budgets, and technology investment decisions. - Drive cost efficiency through vendor consolidation, license management, architecture, and automation. - Partner with business functions to improve internal workflows, approvals, knowledge management, and operational visibility. - Define ownership and decision rights across Corporate IT, Product, Engineering, Data, BI, and AI/ML, ensuring internal tools complement rather than duplicate core company platforms. - Lead responsible adoption of automation and AI-enabled enterprise tools. What Success Looks Like - Clear Corporate IT strategy, operating model, roadmap, and investment priorities. - Clear technology ownership and decision rights with minimal duplication across teams and platforms. - Reliable, secure, and measurable employee technology services. - Strong identity, security, resilience, risk, and audit practices. - Better visibility into applications, vendors, licenses, costs, and technology risk. - Reduced manual work through automation and better-designed internal workflows. - A capable, accountable Corporate IT team with clear operating metrics and strong business partnership. Qualifications - 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including significant leadership responsibility. - Experience leading Corporate IT in a growing, complex, regulated, or security-sensitive organization. - Experience building or materially improving an enterprise IT operating model. - Demonstrated ability to establish technology ownership, decision rights, and governance across adjacent technology organizations. - Experience scaling business systems, infrastructure, identity, employee technology, security operations, and service management. - Strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, business continuity, and technology controls. - Experience managing teams, budgets, vendors, contracts, and enterprise application portfolios. - Strong executive communication and stakeholder-management skills. - Experience with automation, workflow redesign, and AI-enabled enterprise tools. The Fine Print (That Really Matters) At PracticeTek, we determine compensation by considering market data, internal equity, and each candidate’s skills and experience. For this position, we reasonably expect to pay between $250,000 - $275,000 base plus bonus. This role is also eligible for benefits, including health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, and may be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or equity, as applicable.
