After battling pornography and experiencing incarceration following a sex crime, Joey dedicated himself to helping men and families affected by sexual sin. The ministry educates people about the dangers of pornography, advocates for its removal, and offers hope and healing through Jesus Christ. Our work includes In the Light, a free accountability app in development; education and awareness through testimony and speaking; and ministry support for pastors and leaders who have experienced moral failure. We envision a society free from the grip of pornography. About the role The volunteer Communications Director leads how Redeem These Ashes speaks to the public across its channels. This role sets an editorial direction rooted in truth and grace, guides the social media and creative team, and works with the Executive Director and Founder to ensure that content supports the ministry’s mission and priorities. The scope includes social media, video, articles and blogs, and website content and design coordination. The Executive Director currently oversees the website and its designer. During this transition, the Communications Director will help plan and review website messaging and coordinate needed updates with the Executive Director. The goal is for website management to move under Communications once the process and working relationship are ready. What you will do · Develop and maintain a communications plan and editorial calendar across social media, video, written content, and the website. · Shape a consistent ministry voice that tactfully educates about sexual sin, shares stories of redemption and restoration with appropriate consent, and points people toward hope in Christ. · Lead the existing two-person social media team and coordinate contributors such as video editors, writers, and web designers as needed. · Oversee the creation, review, scheduling, and publication of social posts, videos, articles, blogs, testimonies, resources, and calls to action. · Partner with the Founder and Executive Director on messaging for speaking engagements, advocacy, In the Light, and restoration ministry. · Coordinate website content and design needs with the Executive Director during the transition, then assume day-to-day website management when that responsibility is formally transferred. · Monitor engagement and content performance, share concise updates with the Executive Director, and adjust priorities based on what is working. What we are looking for · Experience leading communications, content strategy, digital marketing, or a related function; nonprofit or ministry experience is helpful. · Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt a clear voice across platforms and content formats. · Ability to guide volunteers or creative contributors, assign work, provide feedback, and keep a practical publishing schedule. · Working familiarity with social platforms, basic performance measures, and website content workflows. Hands-on web design or coding is not required. · Alignment with the Christian mission of Redeem These Ashes and sound judgment with sensitive stories, including privacy, consent, and leadership review before publication. Time commitment and location This is a remote volunteer position with a flexible commitment of approximately 20 hours per month. The director will prioritize work with the Executive Director and delegate production across the team within that time commitment.
