Music is a popular subject at STAC, and extra-curricular opportunities areplentiful. There is a large Gospel Choir that rehearses weekly and performs regularly andeach instrumental group has its own ensemble. We are looking for tutors to deliver individualand small group tuition to our keen and enthusiastic pupils. All music tutors are expected to play a full part in the busy life of the musicdepartment, working as part of a strong team of classroom and instrumental/vocal teachersand demanding the highest standards from our students. We are looking for the following for October 2026 on an initial trial basis . Lower brass tutor, 1.5 hours per week Please note hours are agreed annually at the beginning of each academic year. Tutors deliver lessons for 30 weeks per academic year. Person Specification We are looking for accomplished musicians who have the following attributes: · Suitable and relevant music qualifications · Experience of teaching in an inner-city school · Experience of preparing students for exams, including GCSE and A level · Ability to arrange music for instrumental ensembles and/or bands · Ability to enthuse and inspire small groups, preparing them for performance · Aware of musical organisations and opportunities for students beyond school To apply, please send your CV and covering letter to Charlotte Eels (HR Manager) – c.eels@stac.southwark.sch.uk.
