Venue Operations Manager

Job Summary The Venue Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing catering operations at an assigned exclusive event venue, including building, training, and managing the event staff needed to deliver consistent, high-quality service. This position will be responsible for managing operations at an assigned exclusive venue, including recruiting and hiring the event team, developing training and service standards, scheduling and managing staff and ensuring successful execution of events. Key Responsibilities: Venue Operations Oversee day-to-day catering and event operations at the assigned venue. Ensure events are properly staffed and run according to company and venue standards. Oversee Venue Event Sales, event operations, culinary operations, and other teams to ensure successful event execution. Partner with operational counterparts at Baker's Best Catering and East Meets West Catering to coordinate and utilize supplemental event staff when needed, particularly for larger events and periods of increased demand. Serve as a primary operational contact for venue partners. Identify areas for improvement and address operational issues Maintain consistent service standards and a positive guest experience. Recruiting & Training/Development Determine staffing needs based on event volume and upcoming business. Recruit, interview, and hire of event staff in partnership with HR. Develop and deliver onboarding and training for new employees and ongoing training for existing staff. Create staff schedules based on event needs. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management. Develop strong team leads and supervisors who can independently manage events. Build a reliable staffing pipeline to support changes in event volume. Operational Standards Establish and maintain consistent operating and service standards. Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, alcohol service requirements, and applicable employment practices. Monitor staffing levels, labor utilization, service quality, and employee performance. Identify opportunities to improve operations, service, and the employee and guest experience. Ensure events are properly staffed and run according to company and venue standards. Experience 3+ years of experience in catering, hospitality, event operations, restaurant operations, or venue management. Experience recruiting, training, and managing hourly event or hospitality employees. Experience building processes and improving operational efficiency. Strong leadership and team-development skills. Ability to build and develop teams in a growing or changing environment. Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules. Understanding of basic employment and wage and hour requirements for managing hourly employees. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events. Ability to move throughout event venues, including indoor and outdoor spaces. Ability to lift, carry, push, or move event-related materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown as operationally needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment that may include varying temperatures, noise levels, and outdoor conditions. Ability to travel to event and company locations as needed. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules. Experience recruiting, training, and managing hourly event or hospitality employees.
