This role bridges design and engineering — translating user needs and SAP Fiori design principles into production-quality interfaces within SAPUI5/Fiori and modern front-end frameworks. The UX/UI Engineer will work closely with product management, backend/SAP developers, and end users to ensure Dassian's products are both visually cohesive and easy to use within complex enterprise SAP environments. Key Responsibilities 1. UX/UI Design Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and workflows, using tools such as Figma. Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather stakeholder feedback to inform design decisions. Ensure designs align with SAP Fiori Design Guidelines and Dassian's design system for a consistent, enterprise-grade experience. 2. Front-End Engineering in the SAP Ecosystem Build and maintain responsive, accessible UI components using SAPUI5/OpenUI5, Fiori Elements, and related SAP front-end technologies. Develop and extend reusable UI component libraries aligned with SAP Fiori design language and Dassian's product standards. Integrate front-end interfaces with SAP backend services, OData/REST APIs, and SAP BTP-based extensions. Optimize application performance, load times, and rendering across devices and browsers. 3. Collaboration with Product & Engineering Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements and user stories into design specifications and interactive prototypes. Work closely with backend and SAP developers to ensure design feasibility, technical alignment, and smooth handoff from design to implementation. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing design and front-end estimates to sprint planning. 4. Accessibility & Quality Ensure all interfaces meet accessibility standards (WCAG, SAP accessibility guidelines) and are usable across assistive technologies. Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing to maintain consistent quality across supported platforms. Establish and maintain UI testing practices (visual regression, component testing) to catch design and usability defects early. 5. Design System & Standards Own and evolve Dassian's design system, ensuring consistency across products and reducing duplicate design/engineering effort. Document UI patterns, interaction guidelines, and component usage to support other developers building within the design system. Evaluate and adopt AI-assisted design and front-end development tools to improve design-to-code efficiency. 6. Continuous Improvement Stay current with SAP Fiori/SAPUI5 updates, front-end technology trends, and UX best practices for enterprise software. Gather usage data and feedback post-release to identify opportunities for iterative UX improvements. Contribute to the broader engineering team's culture of quality, craftsmanship, and user-centered thinking. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Experience: 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design and/or front-end engineering, with at least 2+ years working within the SAP ecosystem. Hands-on experience with SAPUI5/OpenUI5, Fiori Elements, and SAP Fiori Design Guidelines. Experience designing for and building enterprise software interfaces, ideally with complex data-heavy workflows. Skills and Competencies: Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. Strong front-end fundamentals (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript) alongside SAPUI5/Fiori development skills. Working knowledge of OData services and integrating UI with SAP backend/BTP services. Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern collaborative development tools. Comfort using AI-assisted design and coding tools to accelerate design-to-development workflows. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across design, product, and engineering teams. A portfolio demonstrating enterprise or B2B UX/UI work is strongly preferred.
