Job Purpose

Join Landmark Digital as a UX Writer and shape the words millions of customers read when they shop with Centrepoint, Max, Babyshop, Home Centre and the rest of our brands. You’ll write across our mobile apps, mobile web and desktop, in English and Arabic, from the first search through to the push notification that says their order is on its way.

This is a hands-on role within the design team. You’ll work in Figma with product designers while ideas are still taking shape, and own your copy all the way to live. You’ll also help us build our own in-house content system, one that does for our words what our design system does for our UI, across every brand and territory we serve.

We’re looking for someone at a mid level with sharp thinking and a hunger to grow. There’s massive untapped potential here. As the content system grows, the role can grow with it, towards senior and beyond, based on what you ship.

Based in Dubai, you’ll join a large organisation where a lot is changing at once. Priorities shift, teams get reorganised and AI keeps reshaping how we work, so expect the role to move with it. If you need a fixed brief and a settled process, this probably isn’t for you. If you enjoy building while things are moving, it could be a really good fit.

Job Description

  • Own product copy across our apps, mobile web and desktop, from search and product pages to basket, checkout, account, errors and empty states.
  • Write the messages that reach customers outside the app, including push notifications, emails and SMS, from order confirmations to delivery updates. When big sale moments like White Wednesday come round, you’ll pitch in on campaign copy too.
  • Write in both English and Arabic, across RTL and LTR layouts. Arabic copy should feel written for our customers across the GCC, not translated for them.
  • Work hands-on in Figma. Write in context, edit components and layouts when the copy needs it, and check states, edge cases and character limits before handoff.
  • Help build our content system from the ground up, including voice and tone guidelines for each brand, a shared Arabic and English glossary, reusable content patterns in our multi-brand design system, and a clean way to hand strings over to developers.
  • Get involved while features are still being shaped, working closely with product owners, designers and engineers, plus legal and marketing on promos and sale copy. Flag it early when a copy problem is really a design problem.
  • Use test results and research to spot copy that isn’t working and improve it, with the team’s support.
  • Use AI to write and localise faster, and build prompts and workflows the rest of the team can reuse as the tools keep changing.
  • Be part of a design team that runs regular critiques, where your work gets challenged and you’re expected to challenge back. You’ll grow faster here because the bar is high and the feedback is real.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years of UX writing, content design or product copywriting experience, ideally in e-commerce or consumer apps.
  • Native-level written Arabic and strong UK English. You adapt copy for each language instead of translating word for word, and you know how Arabic behaves in RTL layouts.
  • A portfolio that shows your copy in context on real screens: the problem, what you tried and why you landed where you did. Redacted or NDA work is fine. Shortlisted candidates will also do a short writing exercise.
  • A solid grasp of UX writing basics, including clarity, hierarchy, microcopy, error and empty states, accessibility and plain language.
  • Comfortable working in Figma, or keen to get there fast. Editing copy inside components, variants and auto layout should feel normal.
  • An eye for systems as well as single screens. Experience with content style guides, glossaries or design systems is a big plus.
  • Open-minded and adaptable. You’re happy to move across brands, product areas and types of work as priorities change, and to wear more than one hat when the work needs it.
  • Full ownership of your work. You see your copy through until it ships, and chase it when it gets stuck.
  • An active interest in AI and a willingness to change how you work as the tools evolve.
  • Clear communication, with the confidence to explain and defend your copy decisions.
  • Attention to detail, down to a stray comma or a missing hamza.
  • Nice to have: Gulf Arabic, A/B testing experience, CMS or localisation tools, or a content style guide you built from scratch.
