According to Car Dealer Reviews, we are ranked as the number one car dealership in Oldham and 12th in the UK out of more than 10,000 dealerships. We typically hold approximately 140–150 vehicles in stock and sell an average of around 160 vehicles per month. We were also recognised as one of the top 10 buyers on the Carwow platform in both 2025 and 2026. This demonstrates the scale and fast-moving nature of our business and provides our sales team with a consistent flow of stock, customers and genuine opportunities to sell and earn commission. We are now looking for a confident, organised, ambitious and customer-focused Used Car Sales Executive to join our growing sales team. We want someone who is hungry to sell, takes ownership of every opportunity and is motivated to develop their career within a successful dealership. This is a hands-on role involving the complete customer journey—from receiving a lead and confirming an appointment through to completing the sale, vehicle handover and post-sale follow-up. Salary and benefits £26,500 basic salary per year. Uncapped commission. Realistic OTE of £33,000–£38,000 per year. Full-time, permanent position. Support and training provided. Key responsibilities Deal professionally with new and existing customers in person, by telephone and online. Manage appointments and leads provided by our customer service and telephony team. Welcome booked and walk-in customers to the showroom. Confirm customer appointments and vehicle availability. Follow up enquiries, send personalised vehicle videos and actively progress leads. Update the CRM accurately after every customer interaction. Understand customers’ requirements and present suitable vehicles. Maintain strong knowledge of available stock, vehicle specifications and dealership products. Conduct vehicle demonstrations and accompanied test drives. Check customer driving licences and follow the company’s test-drive procedures. Discuss part exchanges and arrange vehicle valuations with the appropriate manager. Take and accurately record customer deposits. Promote suitable warranty and finance products in a clear and professional manner. Follow all company procedures and applicable FCA, data-protection and financial-compliance requirements. Manage customers introduced by finance brokers and third-party companies, liaising with all parties to ensure the sale progresses smoothly through to completion. Take responsibility for the complete sales process from the initial enquiry through to collection or delivery. Complete all sales paperwork accurately, including customer agreements, warranty documents, deal notes and V5 documentation. Clearly record all agreed work, customer requirements and promises made during the sale. Confirm cleared payment and finance payout before releasing a vehicle. Complete professional vehicle handovers and explain the vehicle’s main controls and documentation. Follow up customers after appointments, test drives and vehicle purchases. Actively request customer reviews as part of the role’s performance expectations. Work towards individual and dealership sales, warranty, follow-up and customer-service targets. Vehicle preparation and site responsibilities Locate vehicles stored in the showroom, parking areas, other units and company compound. Collect and move vehicles between company sites when required. Liaise with the valeting team to ensure vehicles are clean and ready for appointments and handovers. Liaise with the preparation team regarding vehicle progress and outstanding work. Follow up outstanding preparation work and keep customers updated after they have placed a deposit. Help maintain vehicle, document and key security. Keep the showroom, forecourt and customer-facing areas organised and presentable. Park vehicles neatly and help keep access routes clear. Complete general office and sales administration between customer appointments. Aftersales responsibilities Maintain ownership of the customer relationship until any aftersales matter has been properly handed over. Provide initial reassurance and guidance to aftersales customers in person and by telephone. Listen to customers and accurately record their concerns. Direct customers through the correct company aftersales and warranty process. Liaise with the aftersales team to ensure an organised handover. Avoid making unauthorised promises regarding repairs, refunds, warranty coverage or completion times. Escalate complaints or sensitive matters to the appropriate manager. Essential requirements Minimum of one year’s target-driven sales experience. Strong customer service and communication skills. Confident and professional telephone manner. Ability to build rapport, negotiate and close sales. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable using computers, email and customer-management systems. Ability to manage multiple customers, appointments and ongoing sales. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to work weekends as part of a fixed rota. Professional appearance and approach. Previous motor-trade or used-car sales experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Working pattern Five days per week. Every Saturday and alternate Sundays. Two scheduled days off each week in accordance with the sales rota. Weekend and bank-holiday availability is required. The ideal candidate The successful candidate will take full ownership of their customers, communicate effectively with colleagues and ensure every sale is handled accurately and professionally from the initial enquiry through to handover and follow-up.
