Innovative Health Diagnostics (IHDLab)

About IHDLab

Innovative Health Diagnostics (IHDLab) is a U.S.-based, high-complexity clinical laboratory headquartered in Irvine, California. We provide diagnostic testing across women's health and fertility, molecular diagnostics, infectious disease, chemistry, hematology, pathology, cytology, and other specialized laboratory services.

We are seeking an experienced Controller based in the Philippines to become a key member of our U.S. finance organization.

This is a senior, hands-on accounting role requiring strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, month-end close, QuickBooks Online, financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls.

A CPA designation is strongly preferred (Philippine CPA accepted). Given the complexity and level of responsibility associated with this position, we are seeking a professional with the technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and leadership capabilities expected of a senior financial controller.

This is not a bookkeeping or routine accounting position. We are looking for someone capable of independently taking ownership of the accounting function, resolving complex financial issues, and working directly with U.S.-based executive leadership.

  • Maintain accurate AP aging and vendor balances.
  • Review vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare weekly cash requirements and short-term cash-flow forecasts for executive leadership.

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Produce monthly management reporting and financial KPIs.
  • Identify unusual financial trends, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

Who We Are Looking For

We want a hands-on, technically proficient Controller who can independently manage complex accounting responsibilities rather than simply review work prepared by others.

The ideal candidate can apply accounting principles to determine the appropriate treatment of transactions, establish reliable financial processes, and take responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.

If an account does not reconcile, you investigate it and resolve the discrepancy.

If collections do not match the general ledger, you determine why and ensure the appropriate accounting treatment.

If revenue recognition or receivable valuation requires professional judgment, you assess the relevant information and make a technically sound recommendation.

If a vendor balance appears incorrect, you trace the transactions and resolve the issue.

If leadership needs a cash forecast, you prepare one supported by reliable financial data and reasonable assumptions.

If the CEO, CFO, or auditors question a financial figure, you can explain and substantiate it.

You should be comfortable moving between detailed accounting work and higher-level financial analysis, with the confidence and technical expertise to take ownership of the company's accounting function.

What Success Looks Like

The successful Controller will help IHDLab establish:

  • A disciplined and predictable monthly close.
  • Accurate, timely, and U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Fully reconciled balance-sheet accounts.
  • Appropriate revenue recognition and reliable receivable valuation.
  • Accurate reconciliation between healthcare collections and accounting records.
  • Accurate AP and vendor balances.
  • Clear weekly cash visibility.
  • Better laboratory cost and profitability reporting.
  • Stronger internal financial controls.
  • Documented and consistently enforced accounting processes.
  • Audit-ready financial records and supporting schedules.
  • Financial information management can confidently rely on for business decisions.
