TRUCKING & LOGISTICS OPERATIONS MANAGER Position: Trucking & Logistics Operations Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Guam Reports To: Owner / President Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Trucking & Logistics Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our trucking and logistics company. The Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating drivers, dispatching trucks, scheduling container pickups and deliveries, managing fleet operations, communicating with customers, overseeing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring that all transportation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and organizational skills and be capable of managing daily operations with minimal supervision. This position requires someone who can solve problems quickly, communicate effectively with drivers and customers, and keep trucks, drivers, and deliveries operating efficiently. Key Duties & Responsibilities Operations & Dispatch Manage and oversee daily trucking and logistics operations. Schedule and dispatch drivers for container pickups, deliveries, equipment movements, and other transportation assignments. Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with customers, warehouses, shipping companies, freight forwarders, and other parties. Monitor daily driver assignments and ensure deliveries are completed on time. Adjust schedules and assignments when delays, equipment problems, customer changes, or other operational issues occur. Maintain accurate records of completed and pending deliveries. Ensure trucks and drivers are being utilized efficiently and minimize unnecessary downtime. Provide the Owner/President with regular updates regarding daily operations. Driver Management Supervise and manage company truck drivers. Prepare daily and weekly driver schedules. Assign trucks, trailers, chassis, containers, and other equipment as required. Monitor driver attendance, punctuality, performance, and productivity. Ensure drivers properly complete required paperwork, delivery documentation, inspection reports, and other records. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new drivers. Address driver performance or operational issues when necessary. Promote a professional, safe, and accountable work environment. Fleet & Equipment Management Monitor the condition and availability of company trucks, trailers, chassis, and other transportation equipment. Schedule preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs. Coordinate with mechanics, repair shops, tire companies, and equipment vendors. Maintain records of maintenance and repairs for each vehicle and piece of equipment. Monitor vehicle mileage, service intervals, registration, insurance, permits, and inspection expiration dates. Minimize equipment downtime by identifying maintenance issues before they become major problems. Ensure drivers conduct proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Container & Logistics Coordination Coordinate container pickups and returns between the Port, terminals, warehouses, customer locations, and other facilities. Track container and chassis movements. Monitor delivery appointments, container availability, and return deadlines. Help prevent unnecessary detention, demurrage, storage, or equipment-related charges. Maintain clear records showing the status and location of active container movements. Communicate with customers regarding delivery status, delays, scheduling changes, and completed deliveries. Safety & Compliance Ensure company operations comply with applicable federal and Guam transportation and safety requirements. Maintain vehicle inspection and maintenance records. Ensure drivers follow company safety procedures and safe driving practices. Document accidents, incidents, equipment damage, and safety violations. Assist with accident and insurance documentation when necessary. Conduct or coordinate safety meetings and driver training. Qualifications Previous experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, dispatching, fleet management, or a related field preferred. Management or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of trucking and transportation operations. Experience managing commercial drivers and heavy trucks preferred. Strong organizational and scheduling abilities. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple drivers, trucks, customers, and deliveries simultaneously. Ability to make quick decisions and solve operational problems. Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, scheduling, and recordkeeping. Ability to maintain accurate and organized records. Must be dependable, professional, and able to work independently. Valid driver's license required. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required unless the position will also operate company trucks. Work hours may vary depending on trucking schedules, customer requirements, port operations, equipment issues, and other operational needs. The Operations Manager may occasionally be required to respond to driver, customer, or equipment issues outside normal business hours. Overall Responsibility The primary responsibility of the Trucking & Logistics Operations Manager is to ensure that the company's trucks, drivers, equipment, and deliveries operate safely, efficiently, professionally, and profitably . The Operations Manager is expected to take ownership of daily operations, resolve problems before they affect customers, maintain accountability among drivers, protect company equipment, control unnecessary expenses, and keep the Owner/President informed of significant operational issues. Pay: $3,000.00 - $4,500.00 per month Work Location: In person
