The ideal candidate is a highly skilled plaintiff-side trial lawyer, who is comfortable taking personal injury matters from litigation through trial and jury verdict. Required Qualifications - Minimum of 5 personal injury trials handled through jury verdict as first chair. - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. - Active license and good standing with the State Bar of California. Key Responsibilities - Manage personal injury cases from litigation through trial and jury verdict. - Develop and execute case-specific litigation strategies. - Conduct and defend depositions, including expert depositions. - Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motions. - Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial. - Conduct discovery and oversee the development of the factual and evidentiary record. - Work with medical providers, experts, investigators, and other litigation professionals. - Prepare witnesses and clients for deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial. - Handle direct and cross-examination of witnesses at trial. - Prepare and present opening statements and closing arguments. - Analyze liability, damages, medical records, expert opinions, and settlement value. - Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
