Transport Logistics Manager (SLTI) – Job Description

Company : Six Labs Transport (SLTI), a subsidiary of Six Labs Illinois, LLC

Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Direct reports : Drivers; Transport Client Relations & Driver Lead

Location : Woodstock, IL (on site)

Type : Full-time, salaried, exempt

Pay range : $58,000 to $70,000 per year

About the role

We are actively expanding our transport operations and need a leader who can drive that growth while making the operation more efficient, more data-driven and easier to scale.

The Logistics Manager leads Six Labs Transport, a licensed cannabis transporter delivering for Six Labs brands and outside clients to dispensaries across Illinois. You own the drivers, the routes, the fleet and transport compliance, and you make sure every delivery leaves on time, arrives intact and is documented correctly.

This is a people-first leadership role. The right person builds a team that feels supported, sets clear expectations, develops their drivers, and creates real coverage so the operation never depends on one person. You are calm under pressure, communicate openly, and treat safety as the first priority.

Responsibilities

Team leadership

  • Lead, schedule and coach the driver team and the Transport Client Relations & Driver Lead.
  • Hold regular one-on-ones and give clear, timely, respectful feedback.
  • Review and approve timesheets and PTO consistently, and communicate any changes to the employee.
  • Build documented processes and cross-training so every task has a backup and people can take time off.
  • Model professionalism inside and outside work, and resolve issues at the right level before escalating.
  • Champion workplace safety: support anyone who raises a concern and follow the company's safety procedures.

Daily transport operations

  • Plan routes and run sheets for efficient, on-time delivery.
  • Dispatch drivers, track deliveries and handle same-day changes, delays and exceptions.
  • Coordinate pickups and drop-offs with fulfillment, production and outside partners.

Fleet

  • Manage the delivery vans: maintenance, inspections, registration, insurance and fuel cards.
  • Keep vehicle and security equipment in working order and compliant.

Transport clients

  • Serve as the main contact for transport clients and dispensaries on day-to-day delivery logistics: scheduling, appointment changes, delays and delivery exceptions.
  • Notify clients promptly when a delivery time or route changes, and confirm the new appointment.
  • Partner with the Transport Client Relations & Driver Lead, who owns client relationships, takes client concerns and grows new business, so service issues are resolved and client feedback reaches operations.
  • Review capacity, routing and scheduling with the Lead before new or expanded service is committed to a client.

Compliance

  • Ensure all transports meet Illinois cannabis transportation rules, including manifests, agent credentials and security requirements.
  • Maintain transport records in METRC and support audits and inspections.

Growth and operational effectiveness

  • Lead the expansion of transport operations, including new clients, routes, drivers and vehicles, without sacrificing service or compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce cost, delays and manual work.
  • Partner with leadership on capacity planning, pricing inputs and growth targets.

Technology, data and AI

  • Use data to guide decisions on routing, staffing, fleet use and client service.
  • Continuously look for better tools, including route optimization, tracking and automation, and drive their adoption across the team.
  • Use AI tools and dashboards to streamline planning, reporting and communication.
  • Keep systems and records clean and consistent so data can be trusted.

Reporting and billing support

  • Track and report transport KPIs such as on-time rate, cost per stop and client volume.
  • Provide accurate run data for SLTI billing and work with accounting on invoicing questions.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years in logistics, transportation or delivery operations, including at least 2 years supervising a team.
  • A track record of building a positive team culture and keeping good people.
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage many moving parts and same-day changes.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication with staff, clients and partners.
  • Strong technical skills: comfortable with spreadsheets, route planning and tracking systems, and quick to learn new software.
  • Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to drive as backup when needed.
  • Must be 21 or older and able to obtain an Illinois cannabis agent identification card.
  • A data-driven mindset and a track record of using metrics to improve operations.
  • Experience helping an operation grow, such as adding routes, clients or team members.

Preferred

  • Experience in cannabis or another regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals, alcohol or hazmat.
  • Working knowledge of METRC and Leaf Trade.
  • Fleet management experience.
  • Experience setting KPIs, building dashboards and using AI or automation tools in an operations role.

Work requirements and compensation

  • Primarily on site in Woodstock, IL, with occasional travel to client sites and backup driving.
  • Early mornings, evenings or weekends may be needed to support deliveries.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and to load and unload product.
  • Must pass a background check required for Illinois cannabis agent credentials.
