# Trainee Audio Visual Installation Engineer **King-com communications ltd** · Leeds · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Contract: 40 hours per week Location: Field Based (UK-Wide Travel Required) The Trainee Audio Visual (AV) Engineer will support the installation and commissioning of Audio Visual systems across education, commercial, and public sector environments. Working alongside experienced engineers, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in AV installation, cabling, technology integration, and project delivery while developing the skills required for a long-term career in the Audio Visual industry. Key Responsibilities AV Installation & Engineering Support · Assist with first and second fix AV installations. · Install and set up interactive touchscreens, projectors, audio systems, video walls, and conferencing equipment. · Assist with the installation of structured cabling and AV infrastructure. · Support equipment testing and commissioning activities. · Read and work from technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans. · Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail. · Follow company and client health and safety procedures at all times. Site & Project Support · Support Senior Engineers and Project Managers on customer sites. · Assist with loading, unloading, and handling equipment safely. · Maintain a clean and organised working environment on-site. · Liaise professionally with customers and other trades when required. · Work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively as part of an installation team. · Complete installation documentation and site records as required. Travel & Location · Travel to customer sites throughout the UK. · The majority of projects are located along the M62 corridor. · Regular work is also undertaken in Birmingham, Newcastle, and other locations nationwide. · Flexibility to travel and, where necessary, stay away from home overnight is an essential requirement of the role. · Represent the company professionally while working on customer premises. Compliance & Health & Safety · Follow all company health and safety procedures. · Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and safely. · Maintain safe working practices while using tools, access equipment, and lifting equipment. · Report hazards, accidents, and near misses promptly. · Comply with client site rules and security requirements. Person Specification Essential Skills & Attributes · Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. · Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality. · Positive attitude and reliable approach to work. · Good communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. · Practical and hands-on approach to work. · Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK. Desirable · Previous experience in Audio Visual, Electrical, IT, Telecommunications, Construction, or a similar industry. · Basic understanding of AV equipment, cabling, or networking. · Experience working with hand and power tools. · Experience reading technical drawings or schematics. · ECS/CSCS card. Qualifications · GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. · Full UK Driving Licence (required for progression to a permanent Engineer role). · Relevant technical qualifications are desirable but not essential. Career Progression · Progress to AV Engineer and Senior AV Engineer roles. · Gain experience across installation, commissioning, and project delivery. · Develop specialist knowledge of industry-leading AV technologies. · Access internal and external training. · Work towards industry certifications and qualifications. Progress into technical, supervisory, project management, or operational roles. Pay: £22,600.00-£26,500.00 per year Licence/Certification: - Driving Licence (preferred) - Advanced DBS certificate (preferred) - CSCS Construction Site Operative (preferred) Location: - Leeds, West Yorkshire (required) Work Location: On the road
