Your role at a glance Job Description Summary The Director, Compensation is responsible for leading the design, governance, and execution of the organization’s global compensation strategy, frameworks, and programs. The role ensures market competitiveness, internal equity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business priorities while balancing cost efficiency and talent outcomes. This position partners closely with HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to deliver practical, data-driven compensation solutions that support attraction, retention, performance differentiation, and responsible pay governance. What we are looking for NTT GDC (Global Data Centers) are recruiting for a Director, Compensation who will be responsible for leading the design, governance, and execution of the organization’s global compensation strategy, frameworks, and programs. The role ensures market competitiveness, internal equity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business priorities while balancing cost efficiency and talent outcomes. This position partners closely with HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to deliver practical, data-driven compensation solutions that support attraction, retention, performance differentiation, and responsible pay governance. This is a full-time permeant role that can based remotely from US, UK and Netherlands. What will you do ? Lead the design and continuous evolution of the global compensation philosophy, frameworks, and salary structures. Establish consistent global principles for base pay, variable pay, annual incentives, and long-term incentives, where applicable. Ensure alignment of compensation strategy with business objectives, market positioning, and talent priorities. Design, implement, and govern core compensation programs, including annual salary review, annual bonus/STI programs, sales or role-based incentives where applicable, and long-term incentive plans where applicable. Provide frameworks, guidelines, tools, and governance for compensation planning cycles and ensure consistent global execution. Lead market benchmarking and compensation survey participation to ensure salary structures, incentive opportunities, and pay practices remain competitive while balancing cost discipline, talent retention, and attraction needs. Provide insights on market trends, pay positioning, and emerging compensation practices. Translate data into actionable recommendations for leadership decision-making. Ensure consistent application of compensation governance principles across all regions, including: Internal equity and pay parity Compliance with applicable local regulatory requirements, including pay transparency and equal pay obligations. Alignment to global job architecture and levelling frameworks Oversee periodic reviews to identify and address pay disparities. Act as a senior advisor to the VP, Total Rewards and business leadership on complex compensation matters. Lead and guide regional compensation partners on executive, critical talent, and complex compensation matters. Partner with regional compensation teams to ensure global consistency while allowing for appropriate local market considerations. Establish and maintain governance, policies, and processes for compensation programs. Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of compensation processes across regions. Ensure clear communication, training, and manager enablement for compensation programs and planning cycles. What are we looking for ? Demonstrates strong understanding of job architecture, compensation program design, compensation administration, executive compensation, incentive design, and benchmarking analysis. Experience and expertise in compensation design, including base pay, STI, LTI, salary structures, and pay governance. Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills. Experience managing global or multi-regional compensation programs and planning cycles. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level. Strong oral and written communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field or equivalent education and/or work experience. Demonstrated experience of progressive compensation experience, including experience leading compensation programs in a global or multi-regional environment, people management or project team leadership experience. Experience must include design, implementation, governance, support, and maintenance of global compensation programs, processes, and business requirements. Travel may be required, up to 10%. Compensation Pay Range For roles residing in the US, we share pay and benefit levels to support pay transparency requirements. For other countries, we are more than happy to share our competitive pay and benefit levels during the interview process. This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable. Base salary for this position is: All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
