About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, delivery-focused Technical Project Manager to join our growing IT and business solutions practice in Central London. Operating out of our modern office in the City of London (EC2), near Liverpool Street and Bank stations, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex enterprise technology solutions, cloud migrations, custom software integration, and digital transformation initiatives for high-profile client accounts.

In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical engineering teams. You will manage project lifecycles, resource allocation, technical dependencies, budgets, and risk matrices to ensure high-quality software and IT solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Project Delivery: Lead cross-functional project teams (software engineers, solution architects, QA leads, and DevOps specialists) to scope, schedule, and execute complex IT solutions from inception to sign-off.
  • Agile & Hybrid Frameworks: Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and milestone reviews using Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for client leadership, product owners, and external technology vendors, providing clear status reporting, risk assessments, and executive governance.
  • Scope, Risk & Budget Control: Manage project financials, resource utilization, baseline schedules, and formal change requests to prevent scope creep while maximizing project profitability.
  • Technical Dependency Mapping: Collaborate with architects and technical leads to resolve architectural bottlenecks, manage API/system integration dependencies, and maintain continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Quality & Compliance Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet enterprise quality standards, security baselines, and regulatory compliance standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials Plus).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of commercial experience as a Technical Project Manager, IT Project Manager, or Delivery Manager within an IT consultancy, SaaS vendor, or enterprise technology provider.
  • Methodology & Professional Certifications:
  • Project management certification is highly desirable (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Certified ScrumMaster [CSM], or AgilePM).
  • Technical Background:
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), cloud architecture (AWS or Azure), enterprise API integration, and data migration strategies.
  • Proficiency with enterprise project management tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Asana).
  • Key Competencies: Exceptional leadership, structured problem-solving, stakeholder negotiation, and clear verbal/written communication skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or equivalent practical industry experience.
  • Location & Mobility: Ability to work from our City of London office (EC2 postcode area) on scheduled hybrid days, with occasional visits to client sites across Central London.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary (depending on experience)
  • Discretionary annual performance bonus scheme
  • Flexible hybrid working model (2–3 days office/client site / home working)
  • 25 days annual leave + public bank holidays (plus option to buy extra days)
  • Employer pension contribution scheme
  • Fully funded professional training budget (PMP, Agile, AWS Cloud Practitioner)
  • Private medical insurance, dental cover, and employee assistance program (EAP)
  • Season ticket loan, cycle-to-work scheme, and local City of London corporate discounts
