You will be flexible and open to learning and have a genuine interest in GPU Compute This is a newly created role within our Tech Team, and it's a fantastic opportunity to make an impact and shape operational excellence Role Overview Department: Technical Operations & Infrastructure & Procurement Reports To: Head of Data Centre Operations / Infrastructure Lead Core Objective: Manage daily hardware operations and technical workflows while maintaining real-time inventory control and procuring high-density GPU server components to ensure zero-delay operational continuity. Anticipate role will be 60% procurement/RMA and 40% technical operations. Workflow planning. Key Responsibilities Technical Operations & GPU Hardware Oversee day-to-day data centre workflows, including server deployment, rack assembly, cabling, and scheduled hardware maintenance. Lead technical procurement, directly sourcing GPUs, servers, spare parts, cables, and infrastructure components from vendors and distributors. Maintain complete, real-time records of stock availability, asset locations, and component serial numbers . Manage stock levels, establish safety buffer stock for high-failure items, and execute routine physical inventory audits. Negotiate vendor pricing, delivery schedules, component lead times, and warranty returns (RMAs). Workflow & Administrative Control Prioritize and delegate operational tasks, server build requests, and maintenance tickets to meet project delivery timelines. Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for server building, stock check-ins/check-outs, and component disposal. Track operational expenditure, hardware failure rates, and supply chain lead times to inform future purchasing decisions. Ability to report on all aspects of the role to forecast resource/stock requirements to meet deadlines Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 3+ years in data centre technical operations, system integration, or high-performance computing (HPC) environments with direct procurement responsibilities. Hardware Knowledge: Proven hands-on familiarity with multi-GPU server chassis, enterprise motherboard architecture, server RAM, enterprise SSDs, and power delivery requirements. Operations & Systems: Ability to create and manage reporting tools to track inventory, forecast workflow and enable production to meet delivery schedules. Skills: Excellent vendor negotiation capabilities, rigorous attention to record-keeping, and the ability to manage complex technical workflows under tight timelines.
