Job Title: Technical Manager (Main Contractor)

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Manager with a strong Main Contractor background to lead our Technical Office on a major building construction project in Sharjah, UAE . The successful candidate will act as the pivotal technical leader to bridge the gap between IFC drawings and construction realities , ensuring buildability, cost efficiency, and full statutory compliance. You will oversee multidisciplinary technical coordination (Civil/Structural, Architectural, Façade, and MEP interfaces) and spearhead approvals with Sharjah authorities .

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Office & Construction Detailing

• Bridge the gap between IFC drawings and construction realities : rigorously review tender and IFC packages to resolve discrepancies, missing details, constructability risks, and site deviations before execution.
• Direct the technical office and drafting/BIM teams in producing comprehensive Architectural/Structural Shop Drawings, As-Built Drawings, and Builder’s Work Drawings .
• Oversee the RFI (Request for Information) process, enforce document control standards, and deliver prompt, practical engineering solutions to site execution teams.
• Evaluate subcontractor technical submittals, material submittals, and method statements to ensure strict compliance with project specifications and structural integrity.

1. Multidisciplinary Technical Coordination

• Drive seamless coordination between Structural, Architectural, Façade, and MEP integration , resolving physical clashes and interface challenges across all construction stages.
• Chair weekly multidisciplinary technical workshops with consultants, architects, structural engineers, and specialist subcontractors to optimize construction sequencing.
• Ensure all structural provisions (slab openings, embeds, sleeves, upstands, builder’s works) are accurately coordinated with architectural layouts and finishing details.

1. Sharjah Authority Clearances & Permitting

• Lead the end-to-end statutory approval process across Sharjah government entities, ensuring zero delay to the construction baseline.
• Liaise directly with relevant local authorities, including Sharjah City Municipality (SM / بلدية مدينة الشارقة) , Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) , Sharjah Civil Defence (SCD) , Directorate of Town Planning and Survey (DTPS / دائرة التخطيط والمساحة) , etc.

1. Value Engineering & Commercial Support

• Propose practical Value Engineering (VE) alternatives and buildable detail enhancements to optimize construction costs and schedules without compromising architectural or structural design intent.
• Provide solid technical assessments and documentation to substantiate variation claims, site condition claims, and scope modifications.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university. (Mechanical/Electrical engineering degrees will not be considered).
• Experience:
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive engineering and technical office experience in building construction.
• Minimum 5–7 years with reputable Main Contractors in the UAE , delivering high-rise residential towers, hotels, or large-scale commercial developments.
• Proven track record in Sharjah projects is strongly preferred .
• Language Proficiency:
• Native Arabic speaker (Mandatory for official Sharjah municipality meetings, authority defense, and local client liaison).
• Fluent professional proficiency in English (Written & Spoken).
• Technical Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of Sharjah Municipality building regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and relevant international codes (BS / ACI / IBC).
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD and practical understanding of BIM workflows (Revit, Navisworks, ACC / BIM 360).
• Professional Registration:
• Valid membership with the Society of Engineers (SOE) UAE is Mandatory .

Preferred / Bonus Points:

• Direct track record of securing permits and completion certificates with Sharjah Municipality (SM) and SEWA.
• Prior engineering experience with recognized Architectural / Engineering Consultancies in the UAE (dual Consultant + Main Contractor exposure).
• Experience delivering projects under Design-Build (D-B) procurement routes.

Pay: AED20,000.00 - AED30,000.00 per month
