This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with a strong passion for supporting children with additional needs to join a welcoming school and make a genuine difference to a child’s education and development. About the Role You will be working closely with a lovely Year 6 child, providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day. Your role will be to encourage their confidence, independence and engagement with learning, while providing the appropriate emotional and educational support they need. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to ensure the child receives a positive, nurturing and inclusive experience. Your Responsibilities ● Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil. ● Support the child to access and engage with the curriculum. ● Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour. ● Provide reassurance and emotional support when required. ● Build a strong, positive and trusting professional relationship with the child. ● Support during lessons, transitions, break times and lunchtimes. ● Adapt learning activities and use appropriate SEN strategies. ● Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO. ● Help the child develop their social and communication skills. ● Encourage positive relationships with peers. ● Monitor progress and provide feedback to school staff. ● Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
