Tax Preparer
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and proficiency in financial software. Duties Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses. Analyze financial data to ensure accurate reporting of income, deductions, and credits. Utilize tax preparation software, such as Sage, to streamline the filing process. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and offering guidance on tax-related matters. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation for tax preparation. Assist in identifying potential tax savings opportunities for clients. Support financial sales initiatives by promoting additional services offered by the firm. Qualifications Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is preferred. Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in financial software applications; experience with Sage is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information. Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building client relationships. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks. Previous experience as a clerk or in a related financial role is advantageous.
