Summary: A Tax Manager helps individuals and businesses reduce tax liabilities and optimize tax savings through proactive planning while ensuring compliance with tax laws. Salary + Benefits: $130,000 to $175,000 base compensation (DOE), plus bonus Overtime and sick pay 401(k) plan with profit-sharing Flexible work schedule Work from home Over 30 days of paid vacation and firm holiday Health insurance Firm-sponsored continuing education Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation a plus) Minimum of 6 years of experience in income tax preparation, including 3+ years reviewing Individual, Partnership, and S-Corporation returns. Expertise in real estate and multi-state tax filings a plus. Growth at prior jobs CPA or EA certification a plus QuickBooks, Lacerte, Microsoft Office, and tax research experience a plus Responsibilities: Technical review of tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, real estate investors, and closely held businesses (corporations, partnerships, and LLCs). Oversee the planning and coordination of client engagements to meet deadlines and maintain strong client relationships throughout the year. Review staff workpapers for accuracy and completeness while mentoring and developing the team to enhance their technical and professional skills. Evaluate financial data and entity structures to identify tax issues, planning opportunities, and recommend strategic adjustments. Research tax issues and prepare technical correspondence, including responses to tax authorities. Stay current with tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and effective planning, while analyzing new legislation for potential impacts and updating firm procedures as needed. Identify areas to improve company processes and remove barriers to efficiency, enhancing client and employee experience.
