Tax CPA — Wyoming, Utah, Idaho Location: Remote, but must live in Wyoming, Utah, or Idaho Type: Full-Time The Opportunity A well-established CPA firm in Cody, Wyoming is transitioning to new ownership and seeking an experienced CPA to serve as the senior technical lead for tax and accounting operations — fully remote. This is a year-round role with client relationships and practice direction. What You’ll Do Run and manage the day-to-day operations of the firm Prepare and review individual and business tax returns Meet directly with clients to manage relationships and advise on tax and financial matters Occasional bookkeeping support for clients Oversee firm workflow, staff, and client service standards Responsibilities Review and sign approximately 730 individual and 220 business tax returns annually (S-corp, partnership returns), with seasonal support staff assisting during peak season Serve as primary technical point of contact for the firm’s existing client base through and after the ownership transition, via phone/video/email Provide tax planning, advisory services, and off-season support including extensions, IRS notices, and audits Oversee bookkeeping quality and processes for a small book of monthly bookkeeping clients Remotely mentor and train the firm’s in-office client-facing manager on tax fundamentals Requirements Active CPA license, required Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience Experience preparing and/or reviewing business returns (S-corp/partnership) Proficiency with professional tax software (UltraTax experience a plus) Strong communication skills and comfort managing client relationships remotely Reliable home office setup and self-directed work style What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience Fully remote Step into an established, running client base Seasonal support staff during tax season Growth opportunity as the practice expands under new ownership E04JI802mirf409cglh
