(Overtime may be required based on business needs). Language: English | Bilingual (preferred) The System Quality Engineer is responsible for system-level quality verification, testing, and manufacturing quality management of server and rack-level systems throughout the complete product lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through Mass Production (MP) . This position performs integrated hardware, software, firmware, and system-level testing to validate product functionality, reliability, performance, and stability. The System Quality Engineer works closely with Research & Development (RD), System Test Engineering (STE), Process Engineering (PE), Program Management (PM), Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to identify quality issues, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve overall product and manufacturing quality. The position requires strong hands-on troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate effectively in both R&D and manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities System & Rack-Level Quality Verification - Perform integrated testing and verification of server and rack-level systems throughout NPI, pilot production, and mass production phases. - Execute system-level functional, performance, reliability, and stress testing to validate product requirements. - Conduct hardware and software integration testing, including BMC, BIOS, firmware, operating systems, and system components. - Verify compatibility and interoperability between hardware, firmware, software, networking, and rack-level infrastructure. - Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test plans, and validation procedures based on product requirements and quality objectives. - Support prototype rack testing during R&D and NPI activities. - Identify abnormal system behavior, performance issues, and reliability risks and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. - Recommend improvements to testing methods, coverage, and validation processes. Manufacturing Quality & Factory Issue Troubleshooting - Support manufacturing and assembly operations in troubleshooting hardware, assembly, firmware flashing, and system test failures. - Analyze production failures and determine whether issues are related to hardware, software, firmware, assembly workmanship, process variation, or test methodology. - Perform root cause analysis for manufacturing quality issues, including cable routing, component installation, connectivity, power distribution, and system configuration. - Work with Process Engineering and System Test Engineering to optimize production test flows and manufacturing processes. - Review and recommend improvements to assembly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and production test requirements. - Monitor recurring production issues and identify opportunities to improve first-pass yield, reliability, and overall manufacturing quality. - Support containment, corrective action, and preventive action activities when significant quality issues are identified. Cross-Functional Quality Management - Collaborate with RD, STE, PE, PM, Manufacturing, Quality, and other functional teams to investigate and resolve system-level quality issues. - Consolidate issues identified during testing, NPI, and production and maintain accurate issue-tracking records. - Track quality issues through identification, root cause analysis, corrective action, verification, and closure. - Escalate critical or recurring issues and communicate potential risks to appropriate stakeholders. - Participate in quality review, NPI, engineering, and manufacturing meetings. - Provide technical recommendations regarding product design, manufacturability, test coverage, and process improvements. - Support communication between engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely resolution of product and process issues. NPI & Product Lifecycle Support - Support product quality activities from prototype and engineering builds through pilot production and mass production. - Participate in EVT, DVT, PVT, and other NPI qualification activities as applicable. - Review test results and identify quality risks before products transition between development and production stages. - Assist with product qualification, validation, and reliability testing. - Support engineering change implementation and verification to ensure product quality is maintained throughout the product lifecycle. - Provide manufacturing feedback to engineering teams regarding design-for-manufacturability and testability opportunities. Test Automation & Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, repeatability, coverage, and data accuracy. - Develop or maintain basic automated testing scripts using tools such as Python or PowerShell when applicable. - Utilize server diagnostic and testing tools such as ipmitool, fio, iperf , and other appropriate system validation utilities. - Analyze test data to identify trends, recurring failures, and potential reliability concerns. - Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase product quality, manufacturing yield, and testing efficiency. - Maintain accurate technical documentation, test results, failure analysis records, and quality reports. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related engineering discipline . · Minimum of 2 years of experience in system testing, product verification, quality engineering, or QA involving servers, rack systems, data center equipment, or related technology. · Working knowledge of server hardware architecture and system-level troubleshooting. · Familiarity with BMC/IPMI, BIOS configuration, firmware, and Linux/Windows Server operating systems . · Understanding of server and rack-level integration and basic rack assembly concepts. · Working knowledge of Busbar/PDU power distribution and basic thermal/cooling system concepts.Experience using server/system testing and diagnostic tools such as ipmitool, fio, iperf , or equivalent tools. · Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, and manufacturing-related failures. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams. · Ability to manage multiple issues and changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing and NPI environment.
