  • Personally review priority concepts and collections, giving clear direction and timely approvals.

Merchandising & Assortment

  • Own the companywide merchandising strategy and seasonal assortment plan.
  • Set the category, silhouette, color, size, price-point and launch mix for each pillar.
  • Balance evergreen products, seasonal collections, specialty releases and limited editions.
  • Issue product briefs that define the customer, commercial opportunity, target price, margin objective and launch timing.
  • Make final internal product selections within approved strategy, budgets and partner requirements.
  • Use sales, sell-through, consumer insight and partner feedback to refine assortments, cut weak or duplicate concepts and put resources behind the strongest opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales, Planning and Finance on demand assumptions, buys, chase opportunities and product exits.

Design & Product Development

  • Lead the VP of Design and the merchandising and product development leaders across Los Angeles and Orlando.
  • Run one integrated calendar for creative, merchandising and development, with clear milestones from brief through sampling, approval and production handoff.
  • Ensure products meet standards for design, fit, quality, cost and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Work with Operations and Sourcing to resolve development issues early and cut avoidable sample rounds, late changes and missed deadlines.
  • Ensure briefs, product information, decisions and approvals are recorded in Centric.

Commercial & Partner Leadership

  • Present the product vision and assortment story in major customer and licensing meetings.
  • Turn account opportunities into collections that support overall company strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing on product storytelling, launch priorities and campaign accuracy.
  • Hold regular product performance reviews and turn the findings into clear actions.
  • Bring forward category growth and new-category opportunities, each with a defined business case.

  • Clarify roles, decision authority and performance expectations.
  • Develop leaders, build succession and recruit missing capabilities.
  • Coordinate priorities and resources across both coasts.
  • Manage departmental budgets.
  • Build a culture of originality, candid feedback, accountability and dependable execution.

Measures of Success

Direct accountability

  • Quality, originality and relevance of the product portfolio.
  • Complete, coherent assortment plans across every pillar.
  • On-time decisions, approvals and development handoffs.
  • Development efficiency and fewer avoidable revisions.
  • Team capability, performance and coordination.

Shared commercial accountability

  • Product revenue and gross margin.
  • Revenue and margin contribution per SKU.
  • Sell-through and reorder performance.
  • Commercial success of new categories and collections.
  • Inventory productivity and less exposure to underperforming product.

Specific targets will be set with the President, Finance, Sales, Planning and Operations after baseline performance is reviewed.

Leadership Profile

The right candidate pairs exceptional creative judgment with commercial discipline. They can inspire a team, edit a collection decisively, resolve competing priorities and own the results. They will work closely with the President while independently leading the product organization, turning ambitious ideas into distinctive, profitable collections.

Required Qualifications
