This role identifies and documents nonconformances using internal quality management systems, communicates findings to cross-functional stakeholders, and proposes mitigations or corrective solutions where possible. Key job responsibilities - Perform inspections per documented inspection instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, and control plans using appropriate measurement tools and techniques - Identify, classify, and document nonconformances accurately in internal quality systems, including clear descriptions of defects, affected quantities, and supporting evidence (photos, measurements) - Communicate inspection results and nonconformance findings to engineering, supply chain, and quality teams in a clear and timely manner - Propose mitigations, dispositions, or corrective solutions for identified nonconformances where possible, escalating complex issues as needed - Operate and maintain inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, optical comparators, and go/no-go gauges - Maintain inspection records, certificates of conformance, and traceability documentation per quality system requirements Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities as needed - Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102 or equivalent standards - Monitor and flag trends in nonconformance data to support continuous improvement efforts - Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems - 2+ years of software development, or 2+ years of technical support experience - Experience in Unix - Experience scripting in modern program languages - Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, or experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings - Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, torque wrenches) - 2+ years of experience in a quality inspection role in manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment
