Role description As a Graduate Electronic Engineer, you’ll join a project team and receive coaching to build your technical and professional skills. Your work may involve RF/digital design, software or firmware development, or signal processing algorithm design across various platforms. You’ll join our Future Talent community, with access to training, networking, and social events. A career mentor will support your growth, and you’ll be encouraged to pursue professional registration and take part in outreach activities to inspire future engineers. Core duties Our team needs people with excellent problem-solving skills, enthusiasts for technology, who enjoy making things, understanding how stuff works and are motivated to deliver solutions that ultimately make a difference to the safety and security of the world in which we live. Designing high performance electronics (digital/RF/analogue) for our products Manufacturing devices designed to operate in extreme environments Creating software and applications and GUIs (typically using C, C++, Java, Javascript or React) Creating FPGA-based digital signal processing applications (typically using VHDL) Developing software and/or firmware for a range of target devices including FPGAs, ARM processors, GPUs and microcontrollers (typically using VHDL or Verilog) Designing signal processing algorithms Mathematical modelling The Digital Intelligence Team Drive success and innovation at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, where you will develop skills to be an integral part in delivering cutting-edge solutions that protect and empower global security. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks. Qualification requirements As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:1 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering/Maths/Physics/Computer Science Start date: 21st June 2027 Length of contract: 12 weeks Engineering Summer internships
