Student Assistant (all genders)

from asap | 10 hours per week | in Berlin or Remote | 14.32 €/hour | Master's thesis possible

Your Responsibilities

Why do people so often choose a smaller reward now over a larger one later – and how much can this be shaped? Working at the intersection of decision making and data science, you will:

- Map research on time preferences in a structured literature review - Analyse experimental choice data, from classic discounting models to machine learning - Potentially explore complementary real-world data, e.g. from social media, using NLP and other data-science methods - Contribute to writing the scientific paper and work with our international collaborators

You will also assist with the preparation of teaching and help with organisational tasks at the chair.

Your Profile

• Enrolled in a Master's programme in data science, economics, management, psychology, computer science, mathematics/statistics, or a related field

- Solid data analysis skills ideally in R or Python; experience with machine learning or NLP is a plus - A keen interest in human decision making and in what data science and AI can reveal about it - Very good written and spoken English - An independent, reliable way of working - Ideally, some knowledge of (behavioral) economics and the ambition to pursue a PhD We Offer
