In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and reviewing load-bearing structures for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. A critical focus of this role involves conducting structural condition surveys and preparing comprehensive structural assessment reports for existing buildings, modifications, and structural remediation. Key Responsibilities Structural Analysis & Design: Calculate load capacities, stress limits, and structural stability for concrete and steel structures using relevant design codes and engineering software. Assessment & Condition Surveys: Perform on-site inspections of existing buildings in Al Ain to evaluate structural integrity, identify defects, distress, or degradation, and assess load-carrying capability. Technical Reporting: Write clear, authoritative Structural Assessment Reports detailing findings, structural adequacy, risk evaluations, and actionable engineering recommendations for repairs, retrofitting, or structural modifications. Drawing & Detailing Oversight: Produce and review detailed structural drawings, reinforcement layouts, and fabrication models using CAD/BIM tools. Authority Approvals: Ensure structural calculations and designs comply with Al Ain Municipality guidelines, UAE Fire & Life Safety codes, and relevant international design standards (ACI, BS, Eurocodes). Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with architects, MEP engineers, and site contractors to resolve technical constructability issues and structural conflicts. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university. Experience: 4 to 8 years of structural engineering experience, with a strong background in structural analysis, structural design, and technical report writing in the UAE/GCC. Licensure / Membership: Membership in the UAE Society of Engineers (SOE) and registration/eligibility with local municipal authorities (e.g., Al Ain Municipality). Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or ROBOT) and drafting tools (AutoCAD, Revit Structure). Proven experience in writing technical engineering reports, root-cause defect analyses, and structural repair strategies. Deep understanding of local building materials, environmental factors (hot climate, soil/salinity conditions in the UAE), and UAE structural standards. Language Skills: Professional fluency in English (Arabic fluency is a strong asset for local site inspections and authority communications).
