This role combines strategic business leadership with hands-on operational management, requiring strong commercial acumen, people leadership, and the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced retail environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Drive Business Performance & Commercial Strategy Take full ownership of the store’s commercial performance, profitability, and long-term growth. Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and local market opportunities to develop effective business strategies. Set and monitor annual sales targets, budgets, KPIs, and commercial objectives. Make informed decisions on product assortment, pricing, merchandising, and store layout to maximise sales and customer engagement. Identify new business opportunities and implement initiatives to drive sustainable store growth. 2. Lead, Coach & Develop High-Performing Teams Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a strong team aligned with the company’s values and business objectives. Provide hands-on coaching and regular feedback to improve individual and team performance. Establish individual development plans and support employees in building their leadership and commercial capabilities. Empower team members to take ownership of their respective departments or areas of responsibility. Build a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven store culture. 3. Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience Ensure customers receive a consistently high-quality and personalised shopping experience. Lead the team in providing knowledgeable, engaging, and sport-oriented product advice. Plan and optimise staff schedules to ensure sufficient expertise and service coverage during peak trading periods. Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty. Champion a customer-first culture across the entire store. 4. Optimise Store Layout, Merchandising & Inventory Oversee store layout and merchandising to ensure an attractive, intuitive, and commercially effective shopping environment. Analyse sales and customer data to optimise product placement, assortment, and stock availability. Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy and ensure effective stock management. Leverage automated systems and digital tools to monitor inventory levels and minimise stock discrepancies. Ensure products are readily available and the store consistently meets customer demand. 5. Ensure Operational Excellence, Safety & Compliance Take overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the store. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, security procedures, and operational guidelines. Implement effective measures to minimise stock loss, shrinkage, and operational risks. Monitor store standards, equipment, facilities, and overall workplace safety. Act as the Duty Manager when scheduled, taking full responsibility for the entire store and ensuring smooth operations across all departments. Respond effectively to operational issues and make timely decisions to maintain business continuity and customer satisfaction. Key Requirements Diploma or Degree in Business, Retail Management, Sports Management, or a related discipline. Minimum 5–8 years of retail management experience , with proven experience leading a large team or store. Strong commercial and business acumen with a track record of achieving sales and operational targets. Strong leadership, coaching, and people development capabilities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Customer-centric mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and performance-driven retail environment. Willing to work retail hours, weekends, and public holidays when required. Passion for sports, active lifestyle, or sporting goods is an added advantage. Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month Benefits: Health insurance Professional development Work Location: In person
