Staffing Coordinator
We're looking for a detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator to design and manage staffing patterns for our nursing department — including CNAs, LPNs, and RNs — across professional, intermediate, and residential care levels. This role is essential to keeping our units properly staffed so we can deliver consistent, high-quality resident care. What you'll do: Build and maintain monthly and daily work schedules for CNAs, LPNs, and RNs, coordinating with both internal staff and contracted staffing agencies Input and manage schedules, planned absences (vacation, sick, PD, disability), and shift changes in the SBV system Review daily staffing breakdowns against the master schedule, fill any budgeted staffing gaps, and call in coverage for sick calls or absences Communicate staffing shortages and shortfalls promptly to the DNS/designee and HR Maintain accurate records on attendance, leave, and vacancies; prepare daily staffing reports Compute and submit weekly payroll (due Mondays before noon) using SBV, reviewing missed punches and verifying hours worked Support HR with hiring needs, terminations, and onboarding communication Handle related administrative duties — answering calls/emails, filing, faxing, and other tasks as needed What we're looking for: Prior staffing/scheduling experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred Familiarity with the SBV time and attendance system preferred Strong independent judgment, tact, and the ability to work well with staff, residents, and families Patience and a positive, professional demeanor, including in difficult situations Benefits: 401(k) Dental and health insurance Paid time off Job Type: Full-time Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Parental leave Ability to Relocate: Hempstead, NY 11550: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
