Hiring: Staff Frontend Engineer (UX & Frontend)

London (Angel area) | Hybrid – 3 days in office

£120,000–£160,000

I'm working with an innovative, high-growth technology company building a sophisticated software platform that connects complex physical systems with intuitive, real-time digital experiences.

They're looking for a Lead Product Engineer to take ownership of a key product engineering squad, combining hands-on technical leadership, product architecture and the development of genuinely complex user interfaces.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading and mentoring a team of senior Product Engineers while remaining hands-on.
• Architecting complex, real-time user interfaces involving live data, dynamic state and advanced visualisation.
• Building across the stack, from React/TypeScript frontends to APIs, backend services and event-driven systems.
• Designing intuitive user experiences that simplify highly complex technical workflows.
• Introducing AI-native engineering practices and improving development tooling, automation and delivery.
• Working closely with Product and Design to shape technical direction and product strategy.

What we're looking for:

• 10+ years in software engineering, with substantial product development experience.
• Strong React, TypeScript and JavaScript expertise.
• Proven experience building complex, interactive applications with real-time data and state management.
• A genuinely full-stack engineering background, including APIs, backend architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience leading and mentoring senior engineers while remaining technically hands-on.
• Strong product instincts, with experience taking complex features from concept through to launch.
• Experience integrating AI into software products.
• Exposure to GraphQL, Go, Kubernetes or event-driven architectures would be advantageous.
