Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Staff Accountant/Analyst to assist the President. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the organization’s growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and technical skills. Continued growth within the company can be expected. Duties Assist in the monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and cash management Prepare annual budget and reforecasting for operating entities Assist President with investors, and external auditors on reporting, audits, and financial analysis Complete account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity Prepare Annual workpapers for year-end audits Assist CFO with payroll process Enter Subsidy Payments Review and prepare monthly financial statements and reporting for multifamily properties, using accrual basis of accounting. Prepare interim and year-end audit work papers. Maintain appropriate support for journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables in accordance with company policies and internal control expectations. Review and approve invoices for payment. Prepare lender reporting and lender replacement reserve funding requests. Initiate payments in accordance with requirements of various mortgage notes. Complete bank reconciliations Perform cash management functions. Utilize property management and accounting software (e.g., RealPage) to process transactions and generate owner and lender reports. Monitor escrow balances, including real estate, insurance, and replacement reserves Carry out other duties as assigned by President. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field plus 1-2 years of accounting experience, public or private. Exposure to real estate or multi-site accounting a plus. Thorough understanding of full-cycle accounting transactions, and their effects on the General Ledger and financial statements. Advanced competency with computers, peripherals, and a variety of software, including Microsoft Office 365. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle pressure, meet deadlines, and set priorities for workload. Ability to manage time effectively to support multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to interpret responsibilities and possess the initiative and willingness to assume additional responsibilities. Ability to solve routine problems independently. Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and maintain a cooperative, productive atmosphere.
