Sr Security Engineer, AWS Infrastructure Security
AWS Network Security is looking for Sr. Security Engineers who can drive and improve Identity outcomes across the network for the largest cloud provider in the world. The security engineers within our team are instrumental in helping drive the Identity approaches and outcomes that affect the delivery of AWS next-generation networks with automation and scale as AWS continues its global expansion. A Sr. Security Engineer in Amazon will be strong in multiple security domains and sought out for advice on technical issues. Efficient time management skills are required along with the ability to deliver results in the face of uncertainty. Engineers in this role must show exemplary judgment in making technical trade-offs between short versus long term security and business goals. They must also demonstrate resilience and navigate difficult situations with composure and tact. The successful candidate must be one that can handle several difficult challenges and problems, and can make risk-based assessments founded on data and facts. The successful candidate will have a good mix of deep technical knowledge and a demonstrated background in network security and software systems, specifically with Identity and Access Management (IAM). We value broad and deep technical knowledge, specifically in the fields of cryptography, network security, software security, security operations and incident response. - 4+ years of non-internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools experience - 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience - 4+ years of (non-internship) scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages experience - Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go - Experience (non-internship) in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language - Experience (non-internship) in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools - Experience working in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans - Experience (non-internship) in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
