Sr. HR Executive (Generalist)
HR Executive in a jewellery firm is responsible for managing employees, recruitment, attendance, performance, compliance, training, and maintaining discipline across the showroom, manufacturing, sales, and support functions. Key Responsibilities Manpower Planning & Recruitment Identify staffing requirements for showrooms, manufacturing units, offices, and warehouses. Recruit sales executives, jewellery designers, karigars, accountants, security staff, and other employees. Prepare job descriptions and coordinate interviews and selection. Conduct background and reference checks where required. Employee Onboarding Manage joining formalities and documentation. Conduct induction and explain company policies, rules, and procedures. Ensure employees understand jewellery handling, security, confidentiality, and workplace standards. Attendance & Leave Management Monitor daily attendance, shifts, late coming, overtime, and absenteeism. Manage leave applications and maintain attendance records. Coordinate payroll inputs with the accounts/payroll team. Payroll & Employee Benefits Verify salary, incentives, commissions, overtime, deductions, and attendance-related payroll data. Coordinate statutory benefits and employee records. Resolve salary and benefits-related employee queries. Performance Management Establish KRAs/KPIs for sales, manufacturing, administration, and other employees. Conduct performance reviews and appraisals. Identify high performers and recommend rewards, incentives, or promotions. Training & Development Organize training on customer service, sales, product knowledge, jewellery handling, and workplace safety. Arrange soft-skills and leadership development programs. Support training related to company policies and compliance. Employee Relations Handle employee grievances, complaints, conflicts, and disciplinary matters. Maintain a positive and professional work environment. Improve employee engagement and retention. Jewellery Industry-Specific Controls Ensure employees follow procedures for handling high-value jewellery and precious metals. Coordinate HR-related aspects of security, access control, confidentiality, and internal policies. Maintain proper employee authorization records for sensitive areas. HR Policies & Compliance Develop and implement HR policies and employee handbooks. Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and company policies. Maintain employee files, contracts, disciplinary records, and other HR documentation. Manpower Cost & HR MIS Monitor manpower costs and staffing levels. Prepare HR reports covering headcount, attendance, attrition, recruitment, overtime, and performance. Provide HR data and recommendations to management. Employee Retention Identify reasons for employee turnover. Develop retention strategies for experienced sales staff, skilled craftsmen, designers, and managers. Conduct exit interviews and analyze employee feedback. Coordination with Management Advise management on manpower planning, compensation, employee performance, and disciplinary matters. Support organizational restructuring and expansion of jewellery showrooms or manufacturing operations.
