The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), writing complex T-SQL queries, and ensuring data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain robust SSIS packages for ETL workflows, data transformation, and automated data loads. Analyze Oracle database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and packages and re-engineer them in T-SQL for SQL Server compatibility. Develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions to support business logic and reporting requirements. Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness during migration. Collaborate with business analysts, DBAs, and project managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance tuning of ETL pipelines and SQL scripts. Document migration strategies, data mapping specifications, ETL workflows, and technical runbooks. Monitor and troubleshoot ETL job failures, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks in production and staging environments. Optimize SQL queries and SSIS packages for performance using indexing strategies, query plans, and execution profiling. Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and regulatory requirements throughout the migration process. Provide post-migration support, including issue resolution and performance monitoring. Requirements Core Technical Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience building and managing SSIS packages, including control flow, data flow, event handlers, and error handling. Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022), including T-SQL, query optimization, indexing, and database design. Solid experience working with Oracle (10g/11g/12c/19c), including PL/SQL, Oracle data types, sequences, and schema management. Proven experience executing Oracle-to-SQL Server migrations, including schema conversion, data mapping, and validation. Expertise in building scalable ETL pipelines for large datasets with strong data quality and transformation logic. Tools & Technologies Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Visual Studio (SSDT). Proficiency with Oracle SQL Developer or TOAD. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for Oracle. Experience with SSIS Catalog and SQL Server Agent for job scheduling. Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or TFS for version control is preferred. Experience with SSRS or Power BI for reporting integration is advantageous. PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or an equivalent SQL Server certification. Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or other cloud-based ETL platforms. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, including star schema, snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions. Experience working with Azure cloud environments. Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies. Experience with data lineage and metadata management tools.
