Develop and maintain custom dashboards and alerts for proactive issue identification. Onboard and instrument applications and infrastructure to generate telemetry data (metrics, traces, logs). Troubleshoot complex performance issues by analyzing traces, metrics, and log correlations. Automate deployment and configuration of the Splunk Observability suite. Collaborate with development and SRE teams to improve system reliability and performance. Create and optimize Splunk Observability Queries (O11yQL) for advanced data analysis. Manage and fine-tuning alerting thresholds to reduce noise and improve Mean Time to Detection (MTTD). Skills Required Strong expertise in Full-Stack Observability , with hands-on experience in Splunk Observability Cloud , including APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, RUM, and Log Observer . Proven ability to design, implement, and manage end-to-end observability solutions , including dashboards, alerts, and telemetry pipelines. Solid experience in instrumenting applications and infrastructure to generate and export metrics, logs, and distributed traces (using OpenTelemetry or similar frameworks). Advanced skills in troubleshooting performance issues , with the ability to analyze APM traces, system metrics, log correlations, and dependency maps . Experience developing and optimizing custom dashboards, alerting rules, service maps , and other observability artifacts for proactive monitoring. Proficiency in O11yQL (Splunk Observability Query Language) to perform deep data analysis and build advanced insights. Strong automation skills using IaC tools (Terraform/Pulumi), CI/CD pipelines, or scripting (Python, Bash) to deploy and configure Splunk Observability components. Experience collaborating with Software Engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams to enhance system reliability, performance, and operational visibility. Ability to fine-tune alert thresholds , implement good alert hygiene, and improve MTTD and overall incident response effectiveness . Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across complex distributed systems. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) is a strong plus. Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
