SPA MANAGER – WELLNESS & COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS
The Opportunity An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a polished and experienced Spa Manager to join an exclusive luxury health club renowned for its outstanding facilities and highly personalised member experience. Role Overview We are seeking an exceptional Spa Manager to lead and curate a world-class recovery and performance optimisation offering within an ultra-exclusive private members’ health club, Ras Al Ard in Kuwait. As Spa Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the spa and wellness facilities. You will lead a team supported by two Spa Supervisors, ensuring consistent standards across treatment rooms, wellness facilities, cleanliness, service delivery and member interactions. The role also forms part of the club's Duty Manager team, requiring you to take responsibility for the wider club operation during designated Duty Manager shifts. This is a highly visible role requiring a leader who is equally comfortable leading people, analysing a P&L, driving revenue, managing operations and delivering an exceptional member experience. Key ResponsibilitiesSpa Operations & Operational Excellence Take full ownership of the day-to-day operation of the spa and wellness facilities. Ensure all areas operate safely, efficiently and consistently to Aura's premium standards. Lead operational excellence across: Treatment rooms Red Light Therapy Hot & Cold Plunge facilities Steam Room Jacuzzi Cryotherapy Experience Showers Associated relaxation and wellness areas Establish and maintain clear SOPs, operating standards and ways of working across the spa. Ensure all equipment and facilities are operational, maintained and presented to the highest standard. Proactively identify operational issues and resolve them quickly. Work closely with the wider club leadership team to ensure a seamless member journey. Commercial & Financial Performance Take accountability for the spa P&L and financial performance. Deliver agreed revenue, gross margin and profitability targets. Develop and implement strategies to increase spa revenue and profitability. Monitor performance against budget, forecast and agreed KPIs. Identify opportunities to increase average spend per member and treatment revenue. Drive revenue through treatment sales, retail, wellness experiences, packages, memberships and ancillary services. Monitor product costs, labour costs and departmental expenditure. Control stock levels and minimise waste. Source and negotiate products and supplies in line with Aura's quality and commercial requirements. Use data and performance reporting to identify opportunities and make commercially sound decisions. Treatment Room Utilisation A key responsibility will be maximising the productivity and profitability of the treatment rooms. Monitor daily, weekly and monthly treatment room utilisation. Develop strategies to increase utilisation during quieter periods. Optimise therapist rotas around demand. Identify gaps in the treatment diary and drive tactical sales activity. Monitor therapist productivity and revenue per treatment room. Develop promotions, packages and member offers where appropriate. Work closely with the Membership and Member Experience teams to generate treatment bookings. Ensure treatment capacity is aligned with demand and commercial targets. Team Leadership Lead, develop and motivate the spa team through two Spa Supervisors. Create a high-performance culture focused on service, standards and commercial performance. Ensure supervisors are accountable for their respective areas and shifts. Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and development of spa colleagues. Build a strong pipeline of talent and succession within the department. Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching. Ensure all team members understand Aura's service standards, values and expectations. Develop team knowledge around treatments, products and wellness experiences. Manage staffing levels and labour costs effectively. Rotas & Workforce Planning Own the spa rota and ensure appropriate staffing levels across all operating hours. Match staffing to member demand, bookings and revenue opportunities. Manage annual leave, sickness and shift cover effectively. Ensure Duty Manager coverage is maintained. Continuously review rotas to improve productivity and control labour costs. Member Experience Own the end-to-end spa member experience. Ensure every member receives a warm, personalised and premium experience. Establish exceptional standards for member interaction, consultation and treatment delivery. Monitor member feedback, satisfaction and complaints. Resolve member issues quickly and professionally. Identify opportunities to personalise the member journey and increase loyalty and retention. Work closely with the Member Experience team to create a seamless experience across the entire club. Cleanliness & Presentation Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the entire spa. Ensure treatment rooms are prepared to the required standard before every treatment. Ensure wet and thermal areas are consistently clean, safe and fully operational. Establish daily opening, closing and cleaning checklists. Conduct regular standards audits and take immediate corrective action where required. Work closely with Housekeeping and Facilities teams to maintain the environment. Products, Stock & Suppliers Manage the sourcing and selection of spa products and consumables. Build strong relationships with suppliers and brand partners. Monitor stock levels and manage purchasing effectively. Control product usage and departmental costs. Ensure retail products are appropriately presented and actively sold. Identify new products, treatments and wellness experiences that could enhance the member proposition and generate additional revenue. Duty Manager Responsibilities: As part of the wider leadership team, the Spa Manager will undertake designated Duty Manager shifts. Responsibilities will include: Taking overall operational responsibility for the club during assigned shifts. Ensuring all departments are operating to Aura standards. Responding to member issues and operational incidents. Supporting colleagues and managers across the club. Ensuring health, safety and security procedures are followed. Managing operational escalations and making appropriate decisions. Completing Duty Manager handovers and reporting. About You We are looking for an exceptional Spa Manager / Wellness Manager / Spa Operations Manager who combines luxury service with strong commercial and operational capability. You will ideally have: Proven experience managing a premium or luxury spa, wellness centre, hotel spa or high-end health club. Strong leadership experience managing sizeable teams and supervisors. Proven experience managing a departmental P&L. A strong understanding of revenue generation and commercial performance. Experience managing treatment room utilisation and therapist productivity. Experience with rotas, workforce planning and labour budgets. Excellent understanding of spa operations, treatment standards and hygiene. Experience sourcing and managing spa products and suppliers. A genuine passion for wellness and emerging wellness technologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and exceptionally high standards. A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front. The confidence to make decisions and take ownership. A genuine passion for delivering an exceptional member experience.
