# SolidWorks CAD Designer / CNC Laser Programmer **AVM Inc.** · Aurora, ON · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 3 дня назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role SolidWorks CAD Designer / CNC Laser Programmer Responsibilities: Design and develop custom sheet metal parts, assemblies and fabricated products using SolidWorks and other CAD software Create and modify detailed production drawings for fabrication and assembly Prepare accurate flat patterns, DXF files and production-ready files for CNC laser cutting Program and prepare jobs for CNC laser cutting, including nesting parts and optimizing material usage Review customer drawings, sketches, concepts and specifications and convert them into production-ready designs Work closely with production, laser, forming, welding and management to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable Create and maintain accurate dimensions, tolerances, bend information and fabrication details Assist with prototypes, custom projects and design revisions Troubleshoot drawing, programming and fabrication issues as they arise during production Maintain organized drawing files, revisions and project documentation Review drawings and programs for accuracy before releasing jobs to production Assist with material requirements and BOMs where required Requirements: Strong proficiency in SolidWorks Experience with SolidWorks Sheet Metal is strongly preferred Experience preparing files and/or programming for CNC laser cutting Experience with nesting software and optimizing sheet material utilization is an asset Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, bending/forming and welding Ability to create and interpret detailed manufacturing and technical drawings Understanding of tolerances, bend allowances, flat patterns and manufacturability Previous experience in a custom metal fabrication or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with production staff College diploma, technical training or related education is an asset, however equivalent hands-on industry experience will be considered Position Details: Full-time, on-site position Monday to Friday Aurora, Ontario Immediate availability is preferred.
