This is an office-based leadership position—not a general administrative or entry-level project management role. The position requires strong solar construction knowledge and the ability to answer technical questions from installation crews, interpret plan sets, coordinate materials, manage customer communication, and ensure projects comply with applicable codes and installation requirements. The right candidate can manage competing priorities without losing control of schedules, workmanship, customer expectations, or project documentation. Key ResponsibilitiesCrew Scheduling and Installation Management Schedule and coordinate solar and battery installation crews. Assign projects based on crew availability, technical capabilities, project scope, material readiness, and required completion dates. Manage daily installation workflow and adjust schedules for weather, inspections, material shortages, staffing issues, technical complications, and other project delays. Monitor installation progress and hold teams accountable for quality, productivity, documentation, and timelines. Coordinate employees, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments to ensure installations are completed efficiently. Provide installation teams with the information, plans, materials, and support needed before work begins. Recruit, onboard, train, and support installation personnel as needed. Technical Support and Code Compliance Serve as a technical resource for installation crews and help resolve field questions and installation challenges. Review and interpret solar, battery, electrical, structural, and site plans. Identify plan, equipment, site-condition, or code conflicts before they cause installation delays. Maintain working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, applicable fire codes, local AHJ requirements, manufacturer specifications, and residential construction standards. Coordinate resolutions for failed inspections, correction notices, field changes, and required plan revisions. Verify that installations follow approved plans and applicable installation requirements. Escalate engineering, design, electrical, or code issues when additional review is required. Customer Communication Communicate with customers daily regarding scheduling, installation expectations, project progress, delays, and next steps. Provide clear, accurate, and timely updates throughout the installation process. Handle customer concerns and escalations professionally and with urgency. Set realistic expectations without making commitments the company cannot fulfill. Coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer-impacting issues. Maintain clear documentation of customer communication, decisions, and commitments. Quality Control Reinforce jobsite safety expectations through training, documentation, field leadership, and corrective action. Oversee quality-control processes throughout the installation phase. Review installation photos, checklists, equipment records, and completion documentation. Coordinate field visits when technical, safety, workmanship, or personnel issues require direct involvement. Address workmanship deficiencies and recurring installation problems promptly. Help reduce failed inspections, installation callbacks, and preventable return trips. Materials and Inventory Order materials and equipment based on approved project plans and installation schedules. Coordinate material staging and delivery to prevent installation delays and crew downtime. Maintain inventory controls for solar modules, inverters, batteries, electrical equipment, mounting systems, and installation supplies. Track shortages, damaged equipment, returns, material usage, and replenishment needs. Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve material and equipment issues. TPO Funding and Project Documentation Understand third-party ownership requirements for solar leases and power purchase agreements. Ensure installations satisfy TPO provider requirements for milestone approval and payment. Verify that required installation photos, equipment information, serial numbers, completion documents, and other funding records are accurate and complete. Coordinate corrections when documentation or installation deficiencies could delay payment. Work with internal departments to move completed projects through funding without avoidable delays. Required Qualifications Proven experience supervising or managing residential solar installation operations. Strong technical knowledge of residential solar PV systems and electrical installation practices. Experience scheduling and managing multiple solar installation crews. Working knowledge of NEC requirements, applicable fire codes, AHJ requirements, and residential construction standards. Ability to read and interpret solar, electrical, structural, and site plans. Familiarity with TPO solar finance providers and funding-documentation requirements. Strong customer-service, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Experience handling customer escalations and difficult project conversations. Strong organizational, prioritization, and workflow-management skills. Ability to make timely operational decisions in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience using CRM, scheduling, construction-management, and standard office software. Valid driver’s license and ability to visit jobsites when required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with residential battery-storage systems, including Tesla Powerwall or comparable equipment. Experience with utility interconnection and inspection requirements. Experience recruiting, training, and evaluating installation personnel. What Success Looks Like Installation crews receive complete, accurate, and buildable projects. Crews are scheduled efficiently based on realistic project readiness. Technical questions are resolved quickly and correctly. Customers receive consistent and accurate communication. Installation delays, failed inspections, and return trips are reduced. Material shortages do not interrupt scheduled work. Safety and quality standards are consistently enforced. Project documentation is complete and accurate. TPO-funded projects move through payment milestones without preventable delays.
