# Software Engineer - Quality & Product **Blue Rock Trading LLC** · Dubai · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 5 дней назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role ## About The Coffee Agent The Coffee Agent is a technology platform being built around the global coffee industry, connecting coffee lovers, baristas, coffee shops, roasters, businesses, communities, and other participants within one ecosystem. The platform combines social and community features, reviews and discovery, loyalty programs, ordering and payments, events, jobs, business management tools, analytics, and other services designed specifically for the coffee industry. We are building a product with multiple interconnected systems, and quality is not something we want to check only at the end of development. It needs to be part of how features are designed, implemented, tested, and released. We are looking for a *Software Engineer - Quality & Product* to help us maintain that standard. ## About the Role This is a hybrid role combining *Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Product Testing*. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that The Coffee Agent works correctly, reliably, and as intended across the application. However, this is not a traditional QA-only position. You will also contribute directly to development, investigate and fix bugs, build smaller features and improvements, write automated tests, review application behaviour, validate backend and frontend integrations, and work closely with the Product and Engineering team throughout the development lifecycle. ## Key Responsibilities ### Quality Assurance & Product Testing Test new features across the application before release. Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing. Build and maintain structured test cases and testing scenarios. Validate complete user journeys rather than testing individual screens in isolation. Identify edge cases, unexpected behaviour, broken states, and possible failure scenarios. Reproduce reported bugs and clearly document reproduction steps. Verify fixes before features are considered complete. Test application behaviour across supported devices, screen sizes, operating systems, and environments. Help maintain regression testing coverage as the platform grows. Validate that implemented features match product requirements and expected behaviour. ### Software Development Investigate and fix bugs across the application. Contribute to frontend and backend development where appropriate. Implement small-to-medium features, improvements, and internal tools. Refactor or improve existing code when reliability or maintainability issues are identified. Write and maintain automated tests. Assist with debugging complex problems across multiple application layers. Review existing implementations and recommend technical improvements. Work with engineers to resolve defects discovered during testing. The Coffee Agent currently uses *Flutter and Firebase*, so experience with Flutter/Dart or similar mobile technologies will be particularly valuable. ### Systems & Integration Validation Many features within The Coffee Agent interact with several services simultaneously. You may be responsible for validating workflows involving areas such as: Authentication and user permissions Firebase / Firestore Cloud Functions and backend services Payments and transaction flows Stripe integrations Notifications Maps and location services Loyalty systems Orders and inventory Analytics Search and discovery Messaging Business management systems Third-party APIs and integrations ### Product Quality You will work closely with the Product team to understand how features are expected to behave before they are released. Responsibilities may include: Reviewing feature requirements before implementation. Identifying missing scenarios or unclear requirements. Helping define acceptance criteria. Challenging assumptions when a workflow could create reliability or usability problems. Testing features from the perspective of different user roles. Identifying inconsistencies between product design and implementation. Suggesting improvements based on testing and real application behaviour. We value people who are willing to raise concerns early rather than simply approve something because the primary flow works. ### Release & Production Quality Participate in release-readiness checks. Perform final smoke testing before production deployments. Verify critical functionality after releases. Help investigate production issues. Assist with bug prioritisation and triage. Track recurring failures and recommend long-term fixes rather than repeated patches. Help maintain release checklists and quality standards. ## What We're Looking For You do not need to be an expert in every technology we use. We care more about strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, attention to detail, and your ability to investigate problems systematically. ### Required Skills Software development experience in at least one modern programming language. Understanding of software testing principles. Ability to identify, reproduce, and document software defects. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Understanding of APIs and client/server architecture. Familiarity with Git and version control workflows. Understanding of databases and application data. Ability to read and understand an existing codebase. Strong attention to detail. Ability to think through edge cases and failure scenarios. Clear written communication when documenting bugs and technical findings. Ability to work independently and take ownership of problems.
