Key job responsibilities - Design and implement software solutions that enable new features and improve existing systems, balancing functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, and security. - Deliver high-quality code across the full development lifecycle—from scoping and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing operations—while identifying and resolving root causes of operational issues. - Collaborate with cross-functional partners including product managers, stakeholders, and peer engineers to understand business and customer needs, ensuring your solutions deliver meaningful value. - Mentor and coach team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing, producing clear documentation so that your software can be maintained and extended by others. - Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and approaches—including generative AI capabilities—to recommend and adopt improvements that increase your team's productivity and code quality. A day in the life You might start by reviewing a design document for an upcoming feature, then move into a focused coding session where you implement and test a key component. After lunch, you join a code review, offering constructive feedback to a teammate while picking up ideas for your own work. Later, you collaborate with a product manager to clarify requirements for an upcoming sprint, and wrap up by investigating an operational metric that looks off, tracing it to a configuration change and proposing a permanent fix. If you want to work alongside thoughtful engineers who care about doing things right, we would love to hear from you. - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience - 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience - 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
