Through our Pathways to Success positive creative youth development model, we pioneer new and innovative solutions to the most pressing issues facing Latine youth today, creating a community that supports young people ages 14-21 and training all youth to advocate for themselves and their communities. Social Media & Marketing Consultant Job Description Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Social Media & Marketing Consultant to increase our organization's visibility and strengthen community engagement. This role supports organizational marketing and communications, working closely with the Development Director to bring our programs and youth voices to a wider audience. The consultant will create regular social media content and mentor youth in digital storytelling. Responsibilities: Content Creation & Posting ∙ Create and publish social media content 2 to 4 times per week, depending on organizational activities and events ∙ Write original posts highlighting the organization's mission, programs, and impact to build visibility and community buzz ∙ Develop short-form videos, engaging captions, and photography as needed ∙ Review and edit photos and captions submitted by youth participants before posting Youth Training ∙ Train up to 4 high school-aged youth on basic photography skills and how to write effective, engaging social media captions ∙ Coach youth on responsible digital citizenship and best practices for representing themselves and the organization online ∙ Establish a simple submission-and-review process where youth submit photos and draft captions for consultant review prior to posting Planning & Communications ∙ Meet regularly with the Development Manager to develop and update a social media and youth training work plan Qualifications ∙ Experience creating social media content required ∙ Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, and basic photo/video editing platforms preferred ∙ Experience or interest in working with teens ∙ Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse races/ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, cultures, age groups, religions, countries of origin, disabilities, and economic backgrounds ∙ Excellent verbal and written communication skills ∙ Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines Salary: ● Independent Contractor position with no benefits; 5-6 hours per week, $25-$35, depending on experience ● Hybrid position To Apply Email a cover letter, resume, two social media and/or marketing samples, and three professional references including one from a former supervisor within the past two years, to hiring@sociedadlatina.org Sociedad Latina is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, height, weight, or marital status in employment or the provision of services.
