Site Operations Manager
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic, and strategic Site Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our food insecurity programs. In this role, you will balance administrative coordination with hands-on facility management to ensure our food pantry and soup kitchen operate seamlessly. You will oversee staff and volunteer teams, manage inventory and grant budgets, enforce compliance with NYC Department of Health regulations, and maintain digital client management systems. Your leadership will directly foster a safe, orderly, and dignified experience for every neighbor we serve. Responsibilities Proven supervisory experience in site, warehouse, or social service operations, with a strong background in leading teams and managing daily workflows. Skilled in inventory control, procurement, distribution, and utilizing FIFO practices to ensure efficient resource management and minimal waste Hands-on experience with inventory/warehouse management systems, data tracking tools, and client or program management software (e.g., FeedNYC, Plentiful). Supervise staff and team members, fostering a collaborative environment focused on safety, productivity, and quality service. Familiar with health, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., NYC Department of Health codes, NYC Food Protection Certificate). Strong verbal and written communication skills to manage vendor relations, track grant budgets, report outcomes, and foster dignified community interactions and improved neighbor engagement. Experience High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s degree preferred. 2+ years of experience in site operations, social services, or non-profit facility management, including supervisory and volunteer leadership experience. Ability to obtain an NYC Food Protection Certificate. Strong organizational, budget tracking, and verbal/written communication skills. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Familiarity with community social service programs and non-profit community based organizations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and data analysis; experience with inventory control systems is highly desirable. Spanish-speaking or multilingual skills preferred to support community engagement and client communication. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs regularly.
