Site Manager - Joo Koon Site

About the Role

LANXESS is seeking an experienced and strategic Site Manager to oversee and manage all site activities at our Joo Koon production site in Singapore. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance, safety, reliable and competitive production, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration across supply chain, regulatory affairs, R&D, and other internal/external partners.

Operating within a small site in a challenging environment, this role requires a seasoned leader capable of driving a transformation toward more efficient and agile production. You will act as the key go-to person on-site for commercial, supply chain, and laboratory personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Leadership & Operational Excellence: Lead Joo Koon manufacturing activities to ensure safe, compliant (legal and internal) production. Foster KPI-driven continuous improvement by leading the manufacturing team, internal/external partners, and contractors to achieve optimal asset performance and cost efficiency.

Local Line Management & Cross-Functional Coordination: Provide guidance as the local line manager for the production team and local disciplines.

Project & CAPEX Responsibility: Manage defined and ongoing projects, as well as the development and implementation of technical and organizational improvements. Align and execute all projects in liaison with relevant departments (e.g., GOP-TEC, Regulatory Affairs, Business Line Marketing, and PTSE national/international departments).

Strategic Structure & Growth: Establish a concept and organizational structure for competitive and sustainable production in Singapore, serving the ASEAN market.

Operational & Budget Ownership: Hold full operational and budget responsibility for the production asset.

Governance & Reporting: Report directly to the GOP Head of Operations and the Regional Head for APAC.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in chemical engineering or a comparable discipline.

Professional Experience: More than 10 years of proven leadership and management experience in manufacturing within the Chemical Industry. In-depth knowledge of the Material protection preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Strong organizational and managerial skills with a deep affinity for operational dynamics.

Excellent communication and social skills.

Advanced analytical skillset, deep knowledge of operational excellence methodologies, innovative thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Demonstrated expertise in Change Management and Project Management.
